ARCH ENEMY, Rise Of The Tyrant (2007)

Το πιο ισορροπημένο μουσικά άλμπουμ τους.

Σουηδικό, μελωδικό Death Metal, με γυναίκα στο μικρόφωνο, οι Arch Enemy μεσουρανούσαν τότε,  προσωπικά λέω ότι αν η κα Angela Gossow τραγουδούσε σε άλλο ύφος θα ήταν είτε Power Metal είτε Symphonic. Αλλά εδώ έχουμε ίσως το αποκορύφωμα της δισκογραφίας τους, όχι ότι μετά από αυτό δεν έχουν καλά άλμπουμ. Τουναντίον! Ακόμα και σήμερα με την γαλαζομαλουσα Καναδή Alissa White Gluz στο μικρόφωνο μια χαρά πάνε με μία μικρή μομφή ότι επαναλαμβάνουν τον εαυτό τους. Πάμε πάλι πίσω σε αυτόν το δίσκο όμως. Η συνταγή της επιτυχίας του είναι ακριβώς ότι το συγκρότημα πατάει γερά στα πόδια του και συνθετικά προσφέρουν όλοι τον καλύτερο εαυτό τους, αυτά τα στοιχεία βγαίνουν περισσότερο στα Last Enemy, Blood On Your Hands, Rise Of The Tyrant, Vultures, I Will Live Again, In This Shallow Grave,  μα και σε  άλλα τόσα καλά κομμάτια μαζεμένα εδώ Michael & Chistopher Amott κιθάρες, Sharlee D'Angelo μπασο και Daniel Erlandsson ντραμς συμπληρώνουν την ομάδα.

The most balanced music-wise album of theirs. 

Swedish melodic Death Metal, with a female vocalist, Arch Enemy was at their peak back then. Personally, I believe that if Angela Gossow had sung in a different style, they would have been either Power Metal or Symphonic. But here, we perhaps see the pinnacle of their discography, not that they haven't released good albums afterward. On the contrary! Even today, with the blue haired Canadian Alissa White Gluz on vocals, they continue to do well, with only a minor criticism that they sometimes repeat themselves. 

But let's go back to this album. The secret of its success lies precisely in the fact that the band stands firmly on its feet and all members contribute their best creatively. These elements are especially evident in songs like “Last Enemy”, “Blood On Your Hands”, “Rise Of The Tyrant”, “Vultures”, “I Will Live Again”, “In This Shallow Grave”, among many other great tracks gathered here. Michael and Christopher Amott on guitars, Sharlee D'Angelo on bass, and Daniel Erlandsson on drums complete the lineup.
