Russian Zombie Metal band SMERDEAD released their new EP «Зловещие истории». The release was recorded in USSRstudio and WattaStudio, and mixed/mastered by Alexander Dorohin and Denis Shurakov at WhiteBoxStudio.

SMERDEAD was formed in Siberia, Russia in 2018 by  Kozlodyor (Vocals), Smerd (Guitars), Khrych (Bass) and Dorf (Drums) to play music that the band members called "Zombie Metal".

A 5-piece still and I'd say a way overrated album I don't care what Decibel said about this.  It has the roots in melodic death metal, but none of the riffs really struck me as awe-inspiring.  They were pretty generic and a good portion of clean tone guitar-work.  The vocals aren't that swift and I really think that they're not hacking it anymore.  'At War With Reality' wasn't that great either.  I prefer 'Slaughter of the Soul' and they've had gaps in their remaining together or not.  I think that they should just hang it up.  There was nothing on here that took me aback as to saying "wow, what a milestone."  Nothing of that sort.

Αυτό που μου αρέσει πολύ στην metal μουσική είναι η ποικιλία ακουσμάτων που προσφέρει στον ακροατή. Μπορεί για παράδειγμα 2 συγκροτήματα να κινούνται στον χώρο του epic metal και να είναι τόσο διαφορετικά μεταξύ τους. Για παράδειγμα οι ARCANE TALES που παρουσίασα πρόσφατα και οι VANQUISHER που θα παρουσιάσω εδώ. Και τα 2 συγκροτήματα ανήκουν στο ως άνω είδος αλλά η προσέγγισή τους είναι τελείως διαφορετική.

Πρόσφατα έβλεπα την τελευταία σαιζόν του GAME OF THRONES, την οποία προσωπικά βρήκα πολύ καλή κι ότι έκλεινε με πολύ ουσιαστικό τρόπο την όλη ιστορία. Υπό την επιρροή, λοιπόν, αυτής της υπέροχης σειράς έψαχνα να ακούσω κάτι που θα με ταξιδέψει σε κόσμους μαγείας, γενναίων πολεμιστών, αδίστακτων κακών και φανταστικών πλασμάτων. Η αναζήτηση μου δεν κράτησε πολύ, αφού οι ARCANE TALES με τη νέα τους κυκλοφορία υπό τον τίτλο «Steel, Fire And Magic» υπήρχε στη δισκοθήκη μου για να ικανοποιήσει την ανάγκη μου αυτή.

Ferocious and unrelenting this is a MONUMENT of death metal and a boon to Cannibal Corpse's discography.  Even though this is 15+ years old, it's still popular among my death metal choices when feeling I need brutal.  The guitars are chunky and thick, just what the meat holder's in their cast iron brains in belting out amazing/metamorphosis style metal. I was surprised it took a while before I noticed more/less of this. So here now is it's justice!  It's hit-or-miss when it comes to Corpse but they've managed to put out some good LP's following this one.  Pat O'brien is no longer with the band, but I still think they're making monstrous material.

A tinge of Malevolent Creation sounding type of gig here, though the guitars are lower but equally strong.  I liked this whole album, especially because it's an old school death metal vibe to it. Wisconsin based Morta Skuld have played alongside Death, Obituary, et al and they've been into the scene since 30+ years ago!  I had the privilege to see a live performance of this for this album.  They can definitely pull it off live!  The album is a bit short, not even 40 minutes but it still packs a punch, to say the least!  Decent sounding recording as well, definitely one of the better bands in this old school death metal genre that's still around.

English Symphonic Metal band MISTBORNE released their new single «Awake». The new single was recorded by MISTBORNE in the band's home studio, and mixed/mastered by Wynter Prior of "Sphynx Studios". Music Video produced by MadeInEden.

MISTBORNE was formed in 2021 in London, England by Denis Hristov (Vocals/Piano), Jodey Baxter (Guitars) and Jordan Turner (Drums). Mistborne's debut album details are expected to be unveiled in early Autumn 2022, with the album planned for release by the end of 2022. The band has released the first two singles from their debut, titled "The New Order" and "Awake"."

NORTHERN KRIG was formed in 2021 at Oslo, Norway by Morfran (Vocals), Erik Lund (Guitars), Mikkel Stein (Bass) and Jonar Gunnarson (Drums), after the end of the guys previous band "Skyrsdag".

The new single is a part of the band's upcoming debut EP "Origen" that will be released in December 2022. Τον όρο επικό speed/thrash metal τον εισήγαγαν έστω κι άθελα τους συγκροτήματα όπως οι OVERKILL όταν κυκλοφόρησαν την δισκάρα «Taking Over» και συνθέσεις όπως το υμνικό «In Union We Stand», αλλά και οι κορυφαίοι MANILLA ROAD όταν πειραματίστηκαν με τον speed/thrash metal ήχο στην κυκλοφορία τους «Out of the Abyss». Έτσι κάπως φαίνεται να δημιουργήθηκε το συγκεκριμένο είδος που οι Έλληνες NIGHTHAWKS δείχνουν να υπηρετούν πιστά και στη νέα τους κυκλοφορία.

American Symphonic Metal band PRIME PROPHECY released their new single «Memories from the Past». The new single was recorded, mixed and mastered by Krzysztof Bucko in Prime Prophecy Studio.

PRIME PROPHECY was formed in 2004 as a 6 piece European metal outfit based in Brooklyn, New York. With penchant for writing infectious music and relatable narratives, the band is made up of Martin Wilczek (Vocals), Peter Statkiewicz (Guitars), Darek Pakula (Guitars), Tom Tworek(Keyboards), Valerio Celentano (Bass) and Kris Niewiarowski (Drums). Ειλικρινά, μερικά είναι αδύνατον να καταλάβεις τι γράφουν αν δεν ψάξεις και τα συμφραζόμενα. Another solid release by this band!  I enjoyed the whole album.  I don't like the vocals as much as on previous releases though.  They're a bit annoying even though it's still Ryan Waste singing.  I enjoyed the music immensely, just took points off for the voice.  Not the back-ups, just the main one.  The guitar riffs make up for it though, probably one of the stronger Municipal Waste releases in the music department.  I enjoyed this the whole way through.  Another 30 minute album though.  I wish they were longer, but it is what it is.  I think that they did a lot of justice to the metal community over the span of 20 years.

American Melodic Death Metal band THEOSIS released their new album «Overture of the Damned». The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Sean Tolley at "Clarity Recordings" in San Diego, CA.

THEOSIS was formed in 2012 at San Diego, California by guitarist Dana Roselli. The current line up consists of John Haskin (Vocals), Dana Roselli (Guitar), Lee Burgos (Guitar), Zac Herriot (Bass/Vocals) and Nick Mafi (Drums). The band brings a unique sound to the melodic death metal genre, with influences such as Black Dahlia Murder, Children of Bodom, and Darkest Hour.

Την ζωγραφιά όπου αναπαριστά έναν στολισμένο με γιρλάντες τράγο περιστοιχισμένο από νέες και ηλικιωμένες γυναίκες σε ένα έρημο και σκοτεινό τοπίο την έχουμε δει σε ουκ ολίγες κυκλοφορίες. Αυτός είναι ένας πίνακας του μεγάλου ζωγράφου Francisco Goya που δημιούργησε το 1798 κι αναπαριστά όλες τις δεισιδαιμονίες που υπάρχουν σχετικά με τις μάγισσες. Φυσικά όποιος έχει μελετήσει την ιστορία θα διαπιστώσει ότι όλες οι περιπτώσεις γυναικών που τιμωρήθηκαν ως μάγισσες από την εκκλησία δεν άσκησαν ποτέ μαγεία αλλά ήταν μια επίδειξη μισογυνισμού του ιερατείου της εποχής.

Never too late to discover an old school band!  This is a solid release...it has all of the elements to making a solid album.  Everything seemed to flow here and I'd say it's a cross between heavy metal and thrash.  I like a lot of the riffs and the sound quality was good!  I enjoyed the whole release,  They have offered a lot in 30+ years being around in the metal genre.  I'd have to say that the older material was a bit raw for me.  On here, it's straightforward and to the point.  Great songwriting!  Every band member does well be it the lead guitar department, rhythms, vocals and drums they're all killing it!
