band VIVA, released in 1981, this record embodies the quintessential sound of
early Teutonic heavy metal with hard rock influences. Unlike the epic or
fantasy heavy metal typically associated with its cover art, VIVA delivers a
raw and powerful sound that captivates listeners with its gritty energy. Led by
Marco Paganini's distinct vocals, reminiscent of Klaus Meine, the album
channels the spirit of bands like Scorpions and Accept, offering a unique blend
of German-accented English lyrics and burr-infused singing.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

resemblances to Thin Lizzy, particularly in its refrain, while "What The Hell Is Going On" introduces a bluesy undertone to the album's repertoire.
Notable contributions come from Barbara Schenker, a founding member and sister
to renowned guitarists Rudolf and Michael Schenker, who adds depth with
keyboards and synthesizers. Tragically, three members of the band, including
Schenker and Paganini, have since passed away, leaving behind a legacy of

yet such assertions might be overstated. Perhaps, if someone were to remix it
sans the effects and interludes, it would garner greater esteem. As their swan
song, it undeniably holds a unique significance, though the 22 tracks that
constitute it may render it cumbersome for a mobile mp3 player. A thematic
journey inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion, it marks their transition
into a quintet, with vocalist Hansi stepping back, and a dedicated bassist
emerging. More significantly, it stands as their last truly cohesive album for
years to come. "Mirror Mirror" remains a permanent fixture in their

unveils their latest sonic assault with the release of the new lyrics video,
"Bloody Rectal Eruption," extracted from their EP "Total
Slamputation." Recorded in the seclusion of their home studio, the EP
embodies the raw intensity and uncompromising brutality that has become the
band's hallmark. Meticulously mixed and mastered by the esteemed Alex
Tribucher, each crushing riff and guttural vocal reverberates with a ferocity
that is impossible to ignore. Formed in 2023 in Greenville, South Carolina,
Abortion Slamputation originally began as a two-piece outfit, comprising
vocalist Caleb Hall and guitarist Alex Tribucher. However, with the addition of
bassist Angela Valiante, the band solidified its lineup and embarked on a
relentless pursuit of sonic devastation.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Xk3hIhpxMqOm1ddXjJsxGdEargweKF2tNgbmJEQPbJiQXxwUDmCq9gLcFv526f33wXPqg3VdsezFBXKHIRzMjVFQp1og0m99_1uSAtXz3cDDzSdj10iXhCvdeoLt_NLjwVoExTXhKofEZDRMjPhFER0mHdfycSsSdng3woekkPms9buNM8vTl08nrmw/s750/band%20(2).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="671" data-original-width="750" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Xk3hIhpxMqOm1ddXjJsxGdEargweKF2tNgbmJEQPbJiQXxwUDmCq9gLcFv526f33wXPqg3VdsezFBXKHIRzMjVFQp1og0m99_1uSAtXz3cDDzSdj10iXhCvdeoLt_NLjwVoExTXhKofEZDRMjPhFER0mHdfycSsSdng3woekkPms9buNM8vTl08nrmw/w400-h358/band%20(2).jpg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">This release revisits the "old" Naglfar,
reminiscent of the "Vittra" era with some fine-tuning. The guitars
feature familiar tremolo picking with a slight reverb in production, while the
vocals maintain their intensity albeit with a darker, more somber tone. This
sets the tone for the album, emphasizing its production quality.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

immediately captivated me, especially with its ominous undertones. Lead guitar
work is sparse but effectively complements the tremolo picking of the rhythm
guitar.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

they're clearly sending a message that their intensity remains unwavering. The
abundance of tremolo picking, coupled with mostly fast tempos, reinforces their

intense and gripping music. Don't overlook this release!<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

unveiled their inaugural masterpiece, "Wheel of Ghosts." This highly
anticipated debut album was meticulously crafted, recorded, mixed, and mastered
at "Thunder Dungeon Studios" under the expert guidance of Daniel
Shaneyfelt. Originating as a solo project in 2021 in Asheville, North Carolina,
Hellir emerged from the creative depths of Daniel Shaneyfelt, formerly
associated with "Black Mountain Hunger." Initially conceived as a
vessel for unexplored musical concepts that defied conventional boundaries,
Hellir rapidly evolved into a compelling musical entity, capturing the
attention of metal enthusiasts worldwide. With "Wheel of Ghosts,"
Hellir beckons listeners into a haunting realm where atmospheric textures
intertwine with ominous doom-laden riffs, forging an immersive sonic journey
unlike any other.</span><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

unique.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

they integrated everything in terms of instruments and vocals. The aggression
is palpable, and I wouldn't change anything about this release. They diversify;
it's not all about aggression, but the guitars are undeniably HEAVY! I believe
they down-tune the guitars to achieve that thick sound. What a great band;
they're grossly underrated! I ordered their CD from Hells Headbangers because I
felt it was an album I couldn't pass up. The music took over, and I
particularly enjoyed the vocal department. This band is incredibly unique and
uncompromising! Make sure to give the mentioned song a listen and see if it
suits your death metal palate!<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigkkPdGNIPvg-PFscWzkY5Uo11Sfxof7twjoUht-4d8IDVimqfwHjCdjIMLs19UtYsyMNAmgxiR_SPTkGvS0E5p0sDrixvENkTwhmaGsyChqckzYju38N3Qmzi-CevOUnrsENC5CDLx936rDK_cJIzH7ID-uKhF_bIFQkis-1MBWP1ieU3rXBs0OWzou0/s281/grades9.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="32" data-original-width="281" height="46" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigkkPdGNIPvg-PFscWzkY5Uo11Sfxof7twjoUht-4d8IDVimqfwHjCdjIMLs19UtYsyMNAmgxiR_SPTkGvS0E5p0sDrixvENkTwhmaGsyChqckzYju38N3Qmzi-CevOUnrsENC5CDLx936rDK_cJIzH7ID-uKhF_bIFQkis-1MBWP1ieU3rXBs0OWzou0/w400-h46/grades9.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: center;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></i></b></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: center;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Ryan “Death8699” Fanucchi</span><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></i></b></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: center;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></i></b></p>

"Jailbreak" is actually a Thin Lizzy cover. Nevertheless, we're

unveiled their latest single, titled "Experiment 66: Mena's Origins."
This release was meticulously crafted, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the
skilled hands of Project Kremisi. D.A.P. (Dark Aries Project) stands as an
experimental solo metal venture, interwoven with elements of horror, emerging
onto the scene in 2017 but truly capturing attention from 2020 onwards.
Conceived by Varganath, the former guitarist of Nænia and session musician for
Walls Of Ashes, this project has seen the light through various EPs and albums,
although only a couple have garnered modest success thus far.</span><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

their fourth full-length album, arrives a decade after their previous effort,
"An Eye For An I," with two EPs punctuating the interim. This lengthy
gestation period has clearly allowed the band to refine their craft and deliver

unleashed their latest single titled "Dead and Rotting." Recorded,
mixed, and mastered by CJ Gardineer at "Red Wolf Michigan Studios,"
the track encapsulates the band's signature dark and visceral sound. Hailing
from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hellish Torment was founded in 2016 by Tom
"The Soulbutcher" Gillis on vocals/guitars, Patrick
"Dragginballs" McCarty on guitars, and Mike "Evil" Oehmen
on drums. Since their inception, the band has been carving their path in the underground
metal scene, marked by the release of their debut demo "Unholy
Isolation" in 2020 and a series of electrifying live performances across
Michigan. With "Dead and Rotting," Hellish Torment reaffirms their
position as a force to be reckoned with in the realm of extreme music. </span><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="font-size: 12pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: center;"><iframe seamless="" src="https://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2096932740/size=large/bgcol=ffffff/linkcol=0687f5/tracklist=false/transparent=true/" style="border: 0; height: 442px; width: 350px;"><a href="https://hellishtorment.bandcamp.com/track/dead-and-rotting">Dead And Rotting by Hellish Torment</a></iframe></p>Nick Parastatidishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10725346417446422089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1339225656528874813.post-90334075127354598502024-03-04T14:03:00.003+02:002024-03-04T14:03:15.447+02:00REVIEW: CRYING STEEL - Live and Thunder<p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcFlDKHSNCyBpaJy2VKbr505ok9aLCxcBTGIFJ02sFCziyOTneK0rxrCFDtHd78qU5B0hoZ2qofI6kLZYUOytNsBkeVzAJ6ofziW_4VN1Mec3WnXJa0sE8f3Frw9IUCiQ3YuXLZJcUFm0vaelFMNrQB-_dAouTL_NJ41lS2Gxotn6eFJ_7B1aFQqz6Pbs/s1500/a2340643430_10.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1500" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcFlDKHSNCyBpaJy2VKbr505ok9aLCxcBTGIFJ02sFCziyOTneK0rxrCFDtHd78qU5B0hoZ2qofI6kLZYUOytNsBkeVzAJ6ofziW_4VN1Mec3WnXJa0sE8f3Frw9IUCiQ3YuXLZJcUFm0vaelFMNrQB-_dAouTL_NJ41lS2Gxotn6eFJ_7B1aFQqz6Pbs/w400-h400/a2340643430_10.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: center;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">CRYING

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">This album represents a significant advancement from
"Violence Unimagined", showcasing more robust riffs and solid
compositions. Cannibal Corpse, now a five-piece band, delivers one of the
standout releases of 2023, fully deserving of recognition. Every aspect of the
album feels meticulously crafted, devoid of any hint of mediocrity.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>

contributing to an impressive synergy with Rob on guitars. The result is a
collection of tracks brimming with wicked leads and tight rhythms. This release
stands out as my favorite since Corpsegrinder joined the band, surpassing even
the early work with Chris Barnes. Corpsegrinder's expanded vocal range adds a
new dimension to Cannibal Corpse's sound. Despite being predominantly in B-flat
tuning for that signature chunky sound, the album offers a remarkable variety
in its compositions, with each track holding its own. Personally, I sampled the
music before purchasing the CD, and I'm thrilled with my decision.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></p>
