Ακούνε κάποιοι Manowar στο διπλανό τετράγωνο;

Λοιπόν, έχουμε και λέμε: εξώφυλλο επικών διαστάσεων από τον μακαρίτη πλέον Ken Kelly (KISS, Manowar, Obituary κ.ά.), ντραμς ο Rhino (Manowar στο «The Triumph of Steel»), συμμετέχει στην κιθάρα σε κομμάτι ο Ross "The Boss" Friedman (The Dictators, Manowar), φωνή ο μετέπειτα γνωστός από τους Riot V, κύριος Todd Michael Hall, μπάσο ο Ned Meloni και, βεβαίως, ο ίδιος ο πολύς και βαρύς κιθαρίστας Jack Starr να "κεντάει" πάνω στο σώμα της εξάχορδης ερωμένης του, όπως ποτέ άλλοτε, τολμώ να πω.

Όταν έχεις τόσα πολλά και όλους αυτούς σε έναν δίσκο, στου οποίου τη πλάτη της συσκευασίας γράφει με κεφαλαία γράμματα "U.S. POWER METAL", τί άλλο να ζητήσεις; Μοντέρνα παραγωγή αλλά παλιομοδίτικο στυλ, όπως το θέλαμε κάποτε. Έντεκα κομμάτια ατόφιο επικό, μελωδικό και βαρύ μέταλ που τιμούν τόσο τα μέλη του συγκροτήματος όσο και το κοινό. Ύμνος μετά από ύμνο, και τί μπορείς να πεις παραπάνω! «When Blood and Steel Collide», «Sands of Time», «Here We Are», «Twilight of the Gods» (πόσα τραγούδια έχουν αυτόν τον τίτλο πια;), «Stranger in Paradise», «Warning Fire», «Land of the Dead», «Daughter of Darkness», «On the Wings of the Night», «Never Again», «Until the End» και πραγματικά, εδώ έχουμε ένα κόσμημα του κλασικού Metal ήχου.

Can anyone hear some Manowar from the next block?

Well, here’s the deal: an epic-sized album cover by the late Ken Kelly (KISS, Manowar, Obituary, and more), drums by Rhino (Manowar on “The Triumph of Steel”), guitar work on one track by Ross "The Boss" Friedman (The Dictators, Manowar), vocals by the later known Todd Michael Hall from Riot V, bass by Ned Meloni, and of course, the one and only heavy-handed guitarist Jack Starr "embroidering" the strings of his six-string mistress like never before, dare I say.

When you have all of this packed into one album, whose back cover boldly declares "U.S. POWER METAL" in capital letters, what more could you possibly ask for? Modern production but an old-school style, just like we used to love it. Eleven tracks of pure, epic, melodic, and heavy metal that honor not only the band members but also the fans. Anthem after anthem, and what more can you say? “When Blood and Steel Collide”, “Sands of Time”, “Here We Are”, “Twilight of the Gods” (how many songs have this title by now?), “Stranger in Paradise”, “Warning Fire”, “Land of the Dead”, “Daughter of Darkness”, “On the Wings of the Night”, “Never Again”, “Until the End”—and truly, here we have a gem of classic metal sound.
