Η μπάντα που ακόμα αγνοεί η μεγάλη πλειονότητα — μιλάμε για μη αναγνωρισμένους βετεράνους του σύγχρονου Power Metal. Ένα συγκρότημα που υπάρχει από τη δεκαετία του '80 και που πραγματικά έχει ζήσει την ακμή του λεγόμενου U.S. Power Metal κινήματος, εν τη γενέσει του.

Και αυτό εδώ είναι ένα σχετικά πρόσφατο άλμπουμ, το οποίο δεν είχα προσέξει τότε και που με την πρώτη ακρόαση με κολλάει κάτω! Οι Αμερικανοί επενδύουν εδώ στο δικό τους στυλ, με λιγότερα Iron Maiden στοιχεία απ' όσα τους είχαμε συνηθίσει παλιά (και καλύτερα!), και φτιάχνουν μια «Οργουελικη» ιστορία επιστημονικής φαντασίας, κάτι σαν αυτό που ζούμε τα τελευταία πέντε και κάτι χρόνια.

Ακόμα, έχουν έρθει και εξωγήινοι από πάνω, με τσεκουράτα U.S. Metal κομμάτια, όπως τα Trickery of the Scourge, When I Remake the World (A Key Flaw), Chariots of the Gods, The Tree of Knowledge, Oleander Deux, Through Time and Space, Transformation Staircase, και προς το τέλος του άλμπουμ, το μεγάλο και τίμιο encore: η διασκευή στο Bohemian Rhapsody των Queen.

A Fresh Breeze from the Past

The band that the vast majority still ignores — we're talking about unrecognized veterans of modern Power Metal. A group that has been around since the 1980s and truly experienced the peak of the so-called U.S. Power Metal movement right from its inception.

And this is a relatively recent album, which I hadn't noticed back then, but on the first listen, it completely hooks me! The Americans here invest in their own style, with fewer Iron Maiden elements than we were used to from them in the past (and perhaps better!), crafting a "Orwellian" science fiction story—something like what we've been living through the last five-plus years.

Furthermore, they've even brought aliens into the mix, with fierce U.S. Metal tracks like Trickery of the Scourge, When I Remake the World (A Key Flaw), Chariots of the Gods, The Tree of Knowledge, Oleander Deux, Through Time and Space, Transformation Staircase, and towards the end of the album, the great and honest encore: a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
