Colombian melodic/progressive death metal band Nero
have released their debut studio album, Iter Umbrae. The album was recorded,
mixed and mastered by Mauricio Gallón at Soundblast Studios.
Formed in Colombia in 2019, Nero combine melodic death
metal with doom and progressive elements. The band features vocalist Isabel
Andujar, guitarists Ruben Dario and Andy Lasso, bassist Leonardo Trujillo, and
drummer Andres Lopez.
Iter Umbrae explores themes of philosophy, consciousness and human introspection, drawing particularly on Carl Jung’s concept of the “shadow self.” Through its compositions, Nero examine the hidden aspects of the human psyche and the internal forces that contribute to personal identity.
