Ένα μεγάλο «γιατί» ταλανίζει τους φίλους τους.

Ο John Bush είναι φωνάρα. Η ιστορία του στους Armored Saint τη δεκαετία του '80 (και πάλι μετά το 2000) το αποδεικνύει. Αλλά αυτό το CD των Pantera... εμμμ, οι Anthrax είναι; Αυτό λοιπόν πρέπει να μην προσμετράται στη δισκογραφία τους, κατά τη γνώμη μου.

Οι άνθρακες της εποχής Bush ξεκίνησαν περίεργα με το προηγούμενο «Sound of White Noise» και κάτι πήγε επιπλέον στραβά εδώ, μαζί με την αντικατάσταση του Dave Spitz από τον Paul Crook στις μισές κιθάρες. Οι άλλες σταθερά ανήκουν στον Scott Ian.

Κατ’ αρχάς, είναι ένας καλός δίσκος, αλλά δεν είναι Anthrax, δεν είναι Thrash ή Speed Metal, είναι Groove, το νέο φρούτο της εποχής εκείνης.

Αν το κρίνω σαν δίσκο των Anthrax, το τέσσερα στα δέκα είναι πολύ. Αν τον δω σαν δίσκο άλλου συγκροτήματος, πιάνει άνετα το οκτώ!

Όπως και να έχει, είναι ο λιγότερο αγαπημένος δίσκος τους σχεδόν σε όλη τη συνομοταξία των φίλων τους, και νομίζω δίκαια. Ούτε καν το λογότυπό τους δεν έχει αυτό το prog εξώφυλλο με τον σορό από σαράβαλα...

Στα έντεκα, συν δύο bonus clips της επανέκδοσης της Nuclear Blast, με τα «Random Acts of Senseless Violence», «Fueled», «Riding Shotgun», «Perpetual Motion», «American Pompeii» (είχε γίνει και βίντεο κλιπ αυτό), «Drop the Ball», είναι τα πιο υποφερτά.

John Bush is a great vocalist. His history with Armored Saint in the 1980s (and again after 2000) proves that. But this Pantera album... hmm, are Anthrax? In my opinion, this should not be counted among their discography.

The Bush-era Anthrax started off strangely with the previous album, "Sound of White Noise," and something went even more wrong here, especially with the replacement of Dave Spitz by Paul Crook on half the guitar tracks. The other guitars are firmly in Scott Ian’s hands.

First of all, it’s a decent record, but it’s not Anthrax; it’s not thrash or speed metal. It’s groove metal — the new trend of that time.

If I judge it as an Anthrax album, four out of ten is too high. If I see it as the work of another band, it easily hits eight!

Anyway, it’s their least favorite album among almost all their fans, and I think that’s fair. Not even their logo has that prog album cover with the corpse of a wrecked car...

Including the eleven tracks plus two bonus clips from the reissue by Nuclear Blast — featuring “Random Acts of Senseless Violence,” “Fueled,” “Riding Shotgun,” “Perpetual Motion,” “American Pompeii” (which also had a music video), and “Drop the Ball” — these are the most listenable.
