Ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα Ε.Ρ. σε διάρκεια!

Ή τουλάχιστον μέχρι τότε, αυτή η ειδική συλλογή με τις δεύτερες πλευρές από singles του συγκροτήματος, ειδικές εκτελέσεις, ζωντανές ηχογραφήσεις και λοιπά καλούδια, έχει λόγο ύπαρξης στη δισκογραφία των Νεοϋορκέζων.

 

Εντάξει, rap metal κομμάτια όπως το Bring the Noise και το I’m the Man ποτέ δεν τα συμπάθησα, αλλά ανήκουν στη μουσική τους (με σύμπραξη γνωστών ράπερ της Ν.Υόρκης). Το Parasite των Kiss σαν διασκευή δεν με χαλάει, όπως και το Pipeline των Chantays, αν και αυτό δεν το εκτιμώ το ίδιο, αλήθεια! 

Το Protest and Survive των Discharge έχει πολύ ιστορία και αποτελεί punk ύμνο. Από εκεί και πέρα, ζωντανές στιγμές όπως τα Keep It in the Family και Belly of the Beast είναι το κυρίως ψωμί του δίσκου. 

Να τονίσουμε ότι αυτή ήταν και εποχή ανακατατάξεων στις τάξεις τους, αφού σύντομα ο Joey Belladonna θα αποτελούσε παρελθόν, με τον John Bush (Armored Saint) να έρχεται στη θέση του. Έτσι, μια πολύ παράξενη εποχή αρχίζει για το συγκρότημα.

One of the longest EPs ever!

At least, up to that point, this special collection of B-sides from the band's singles, including special versions, live recordings, and other goodies, has a rightful place in the discography of the New Yorkers. 

Okay, rap-metal tracks like Bring the Noise and I’m the Man never really appealed to me, but they are part of their music (featuring collaborations with well-known NYC rappers). The Parasite cover by Kiss doesn’t bother me, nor does Pipeline by the Chantays, although I honestly don’t appreciate that one as much! 

Protest and Survive by Discharge has a lot of history behind it and is a punk anthem. Beyond that, live moments like Keep It in the Family and Belly of the Beast are the main highlights of the album. 

It's worth noting that this was also a time of lineup changes for the band, as Joey Belladonna would soon depart, and John Bush (from Armored Saint) would take his place. Thus, a very strange era began for the band.
