Σα να το ακούω για πρώτη φορά.

Λοιπόν, μην κάνετε το σφάλμα να πάρετε τα άλμπουμ των Γάλλων σε αγγλόφωνη εκδοχή. Είχα το Metamorphosis και έλεγα: τί δισκάρα ρε συ! Τί έμπνευση, τί όρεξη και γκάζι. Μου λέγανε κάποιοι: όχι ρε, πάρε την κανονική έκδοση, άκουσέ το στα γαλλικά και δες τη διαφορά. Δεν είχα την ευκαιρία μέχρι πρότινος. Πλέον αναγνωρίζω ότι το Mètamorphose είναι η έκδοση που έπρεπε να έχω ακούσει από πάντα. Το πρώτο πλήρες άλμπουμ τους μετά το ομώνυμο Ε.P. και οι πέντε μουσικοί δε χαρίζουν κάστανα. Αγνό, ανόθευτο heavy metal από τα κατάστιχα της δεκαετίας που το σφυριλάτησε. Christian Augustin πάντα μπροστά στο μικρόφωνο, Stéphane Dumont και Didier Demajean στις κιθάρες, Bob Snake στα ντραμς, ο Daniel Lapp στο μπάσο, και αθάνατα τραγούδια άγριας νιότης και μεταλλικού μεγαλείου στη μητρική τους γλώσσα, όπως έπρεπε να τα ακούσει ο φίλος του συγκροτήματος εξαρχής: D'Aulliers, Majesté, Légende, Hymn À la Mort, Nuit des Limbes, Civilisation Perdue, Cyclope de l’Entang, Mètamorphose — και ναι, έχουμε εδώ ένα από τα πιο τίμια δείγματα της γαλλικής σκηνής. Αφήστε τη μαγεία να καταλύσει με τον ήχο τα όρια της γλώσσας.

So, don’t make the mistake of buying the French bands’ albums in their English-language version. I had Metamorphosis and kept thinking: What an amazing record, man! Such inspiration, energy, and drive. Some people told me: No, man, get the regular version, listen to it in French and see the difference. Until recently, I hadn’t had the chance. Now I realize that Mètamorphose is the version I should have listened to all along. Their first full-length album after the eponymous EP, and all five musicians deliver intense, honest heavy metal straight from the archives of the decade that forged it. Christian Augustin always front and center at the microphone, Stéphane Dumont and Didier Demajean on guitars, Bob Snake on drums, Daniel Lapp on bass, and immortal songs of wild youth and metallic greatness in their native language — just as the band’s friend should have heard them from the start: D'Aulliers, Majesté, Légende, Hymn À la Mort, Nuit des Limbes, Civilisation Perdue, Cyclope de l’Entang, Mètamorphose — and yes, this is one of the most genuine examples of the French scene. Let the magic transcend language barriers through the power of sound.
