Ένας σταθμός στην ιστορία της ελληνικής σκηνής.

Οι Αθηναίοι (ή Ηλιοπουλιώτες, μάλλον) με τη δεύτερη προσπάθειά τους πάνε ακόμα πιο μακριά. Ένα συγκρότημα συνυφασμένο με την αναγέννηση του κλασικού Power Metal, αυτού που τη δεκαετία του '90 κράτησε, αν όχι έσωσε, τη τιμή της βαριάς μουσικής, παρέα με τα προοδευτικά αλλά και πιο ακραία υποείδη της. Στη φωνή έχει έρθει ο Μπάμπης Αλεξανδρόπουλος στη θέση του Γιάννη Παπανικολάου, που ακούγεται στο ντεμπούτο τους Waiting For the Dawn (1998), και πραγματικά δίνει τον καλύτερο εαυτό του, κατά τη γνώμη μου πολύ καταλληλότερος. Θύμιος Κρίκος και Μανώλης Τσίγκος κιθάρες, Terry Moros ντράμς και τέλος ο Αντώνης Μαζαράκης μπάσο. Και, όπως αναφέρθηκε, είναι από τις κυκλοφορίες των αρχών του 21ου αιώνα που σημάδεψαν την επιστροφή στον λεγόμενο κλασικό ήχο. Dancer of the Storm, Hold Me Tight, If I Could Turn Back Time, Midnight Sun, Hold On, Silent Faces, Set Me Free, Riding on the Wind, Realms of Tomorrow είναι ασύλληπτα έπη σε έναν δίσκο που ακόμα φωτίζει είκοσι χρόνια μετά τη ντόπια σκηνή μας.

A milestone in the history of the Greek scene.

The Athenians (or rather, the Iliopouliotes) with their second attempt go even further. A band closely associated with the revival of classic Power Metal — the style that in the 1990s upheld, if not saved, the honor of heavy music, alongside progressive and even more extreme subgenres. Vocally, Babis Alexandropoulos has taken over from Yannis Papnikolaou, who appeared on their debut Waiting For the Dawn (1998), and he truly gives his best, in my opinion much more suitable. Thymios Krikos and Manolis Tsigos on guitars, Terry Moros on drums, and finally Antonis Mazarakis on bass. As mentioned, they are among the releases of the early 21st century that marked the return to the so-called classic sound. Dancer of the Storm, Hold Me Tight, If I Could Turn Back Time, Midnight Sun, Hold On, Silent Faces, Set Me Free, Riding on the Wind, Realms of Tomorrow are incredible epics on an album that still illuminates the Greek scene twenty years later.
