HILD released debut single

 

Swedish Thrash/Black Metal outfit HILD just released their debut single «Brink of Extinction» on Feb 22nd. The release was written, recorded, mixed and mastered in "Twisting Serpent Studios" by Lars Broddesson.

HILD was formed in late 2021 in Hultsfred, Sweden by Lars Broddesson (ex-Marduk, Funeral Mist session + much more) under the motto that no song be longer than 2:30 and require no more than 9 hours from first idea to finished product. HILD sets off as a war and battle themed project centered around the Valkyries of Nordic mythology, each song of the band honoring a specific Valkyrie, channeling their respective traits on the battlefield.

American Doom Metal band SNAKE HEALER released their new single «In His Name». The release was Recorded, Mixed, Mastered at Serpentis Cavern Chapel by Jaz Sainz.

SNAKE HEALER was formed in Miami, Florida in November 2021 by The Serpent Lord. The band consider themselves as a group of renegade Monks tasked with spreading the light of the Serpent Lord, giving the gift of self-reliance, free will and Empowerment back to the children of knowledge.

Τους THE SILENT WEDDING τους πρωτογνώρισα μέσω της συλλογής «Greek Defenders of the Faith: A Tribute To Judas Priest» του Ελληνικού περιοδικού Metal Hammer. Ήταν μια συλλογή που όπως καταδεικνύει και το όνομά της ελληνικά συγκροτήματα διασκεύαζαν τραγούδια του τεράστιου αυτού συγκροτήματος. Μάλιστα από όλες τις μπάντες που συμμετείχαν εκεί, οι THE SILENT WEDDING ήταν ένα από τα πρώτα συγκροτήματα που ξεχώρισα για 2 λόγους κυρίως: 1) διότι επέλεξαν να διασκευάσουν ένα τραγούδι που και οι ίδιοι οι JUDAS PRIEST είχαν διασκευάσει εξαιρετικά (σημ. το τραγούδι αρχικά έχει ερμηνεύσει η Joan Baez) και 2) διότι το απέδωσαν εξαιρετικά και κατάφεραν να το προσαρμόσουν στο δικό τους ύφος. Μάλιστα αυτή η διασκευή υπήρξε για μένα το κίνητρο να ασχοληθώ με την μπάντα λίγο περισσότερο και μάλιστα να αποκτήσω την  προηγούμενη κυκλοφορία τους με τίτλο «Enigma Eternal».

VAROSHAN released debut album

 

International Progressive Doom/Post-Metal band VAROSHAN (FI/DE/UK) released their debut album «...and Then The Rains Came» in early 2022. Their interesting blend of different genres and styles of slow and depressive music has been welcomed with critical acclaim to the doom and sludge communities. The release was recorded and mixed by Anders Bomberg (beside the drums which were recorded by Anders Törnqvist), and mastered by Teemu Aalto known from his work with Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum and Marianas Rest.

VAROSHAN was formed in 2019 to create slow-burning doom metal, but gradually shifted into its current shape as the musicians involved brought their flavor to the mix. The musicians are geographically divided to Helsinki (Finland), Berlin (Germany) and Leeds (UK) and have been parts of their respective scenes for a long time, with a wide variety of bands and projects on their CV's such as Hundred Year Old Man, Lost in Tears, Bob Malmström and Final Assault.

CROSSBONES' CREED released new single

 

Russian Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band CROSSBONES' CREED released their new single «Willow». The release was recorded at the band's home studio "Cb'C Studios", and mixed/mastered in Brazilian "TURN UP STUDIO" by Marcos Pereira.

CROSSBONES' CREED was formed in 2014 at Sochi, Russia. For the first 2 years it was called "Crossbone"s and played hard rock covers from the 70s-80s. In 2020, the debut album "Troublemaker" was released and received the highest ratings from print and online publications around the world. Tracks from it are in the rotation of dozens of Internet and FM radio stations in the USA and Europe. Right now the band is working on their second full length album that will be released in Spring 2022.

Ukrainian folk metal band TEREN just released their new video "Greed"

 “Greed” is the fourth release of Ukrainian folk metal band TEREN. It's a scream of doomed despair.We’re going down a cliff, and our blind greed just forced it. Homo isn't sapiens, apparently…

When we had the basis of this song, we thought that here would be some poignant lyrics. It would be about absolute evil, the mother of all grief and woe. Don't ask us why we heard this in our own music.

We wrote the lyrics within minutes, in which the main character is a cause of all cataclysms. Every step burns Earth down, waves her hand raise a storm, every move turn light into darkness.

When we put it all together, we understood that this song is about humanity. The main curse or Earth is human. The only reason of all wars, cataclysm and woe is a human’s greed. We destroy everything around us, because we can.

Οι ACHELOUS τιμούν τις παλιές παραδόσεις του heavy metal. Συγκεκριμένα, αντί να κυκλοφορήσουν αμέσως έναν επίσημο δίσκο όπως κάνουν πολλές σύγχρονες μπάντες, προτίμησαν να κυκλοφορήσουν demo, single και EP και με κάθε κυκλοφορία τους κέρδιζαν ολοένα και περισσότερο την προσοχή του metal κοινού καθώς και την εμπιστοσύνη του για την ποιότητα του ήχου τους και των μουσικών ιδεών τους. Έτσι το 2018 κυκλοφόρησαν από την Metalfighters το ντεμπούτο τους με τίτλο «Macedon» που είναι εμπνευσμένο από τον βίο του Μέγα Αλέξανδρου κι έκανε αίσθηση στο χώρο των οπαδών του επικού ήχου. 4 χρόνια μετά την πρώτη τους κυκλοφορία επανέρχονται με την παρούσα δεύτερη μακράς διαρκείας δουλειά τους που κυκλοφορεί από την No Remorse Records.
