Πολύ μακριά, σε έναν άλλον κόσμο...

Καλά, όχι εντελώς. Το ότι οι Blue Öyster Cult στην Αμερική ήταν αντίστοιχα με τους Hawkwind στην Ευρώπη (Αγγλία). Το συγκρότημα του Dave Brock έχει στη σύνθεσή του από το 1971 έναν ψηλόλιγνο μπασίστα ονόματι Ian Fraser Kilmister, ο οποίος λόγω της τράκας για τσιγάρα και άλλων παράνομων... καλουδιών, που τους έκαναν οι φίλοι του, τον αποκαλούσαν Lemmy. 

Εδώ, δύο χρόνια πριν από το speed rock των Motörhead, ο άσημος ακόμη μπασίστας γράφει, αλλά και κάνει δεύτερα και κύρια φωνητικά σε ένα άλμπουμ που περιλαμβάνει τα κλασικά: The Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear In Smoke), D-Rider, You'd Better Believe It, Lost Johnny, το ghostly ορχηστρικό Hall Of The Mountain Grill, Paradox. 

Ειρωνικά στιχάκια, διάθεση για "ταξίδια" εννοούμενα με διάφορους τρόπους σε διάφορα φανταστικά μέρη, και καλή, αν και σε σημεία με κάποια κενά λόγω των παραπάνω προαναφερθέντων, hard rock.

A long, long way away, in another world...

Well, not entirely. It's that Blue Öyster Cult in America were the equivalent of Hawkwind in Europe (England). Dave Brock's band has featured a tall, lanky bassist named Ian Fraser Kilmister in their lineup since 1971. Because of his constant nagging for cigarettes and other illegal... "goodies" that his friends brought them, they nicknamed him Lemmy.

Here, two years before the speed rock of Motörhead, the still unknown bassist not only wrote but also performed backing and lead vocals on an album that includes the classics: "The Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear In Smoke)", "D-Rider", "You'd Better Believe It", "Lost Johnny", the ghostly instrumental "Hall Of The Mountain Grill", and "Paradox".

The music is hard rock, featuring ironic lyrics and a predisposition for "journeys"—meant in various ways to various imaginary places. It is good, though in some places it has a few gaps due to the aforementioned activities.
