Περίεργο συναίσθημα.

Οι Sinner πάντα μου ήταν ιδιαίτερα συμπαθείς. Ο Matt Sinner ήταν κατά κάποιον τρόπο ένας αφανής ήρωας της γερμανικής Rock / Metal σκηνής, περισσότερο γνωστός μέσα από τους Primal Fear παρά από το δικό του συγκρότημα.

Με οδηγό ένα άλμπουμ σαν το One Bullet Left, που κυκλοφόρησε έξι χρόνια πριν, η παρέα το πάει πάλι τρένο, στις ίδιες ράγες. Αυτή η συνολική συμπεριφορά, σαν να βρίσκονται και πάλι στα μέσα των ’80s, με την πιο Hard & Heavy διάθεση, θυμίζει έντονα τους Thin Lizzy της ίδιας περιόδου και ιδιαίτερα την εποχή των Renegade, Chinatown και Thunder and Lightning. Αυτό μεν τους πάει, αλλά νομίζω πως κάποιους μπορεί να τους κουράσει.

Πλήκτρα, Hammond και ηλεκτρικό πιάνο χαρίζουν ένα ρετρό υπόβαθρο στον ήχο, ο οποίος είναι όμως αισθητά πιο βαρύς από εκείνον του προηγούμενου άλμπουμ που προαναφέρθηκε.

Δεκατρία, παρακαλώ, κομμάτια, αν και τα τρία τελευταία είναι bonus αυτής της αρχικής DigiPack έκδοσης του CD. Με ιδιαίτερο κομμάτι το νούμερο πέντε, το Battle Hill, και την ιδιαίτερη κελτική ατμόσφαιρά του να θυμίζει… Gary Moore, τα Go Down Fighting, Tequila Suicide, Road to Hell, Why, Gypsy Rebels, Loud & Clear, καθώς και τα House of Rock και I Am από τα bonus, έχουν κάτι να δώσουν.

Δεν ξέρω, όμως, αν υπάρχουν πια αρκετοί για να το παραλάβουν.

A Strange Feeling

I have always had a particular fondness for Sinner. Matt Sinner has, in a way, been something of an unsung hero of the German Rock / Metal scene, better known through Primal Fear than through his own band.

Following the path of an album like One Bullet Left, released six years ago, the band once again keeps the train rolling along the same tracks. Their overall approach feels as though they have travelled back to the mid-’80s, embracing a distinctly Hard & Heavy attitude that strongly recalls Thin Lizzy from the same era, particularly the period of Renegade, Chinatown and Thunder and Lightning. It certainly suits them, although I believe it may become tiring for some listeners.

Keyboards, Hammond and electric piano provide a retro backdrop to the sound, which is noticeably heavier than that of the aforementioned previous album.

Thirteen tracks, please—but the final three are bonus tracks included on this original DigiPack edition of the CD. With track number five, Battle Hill, standing out in particular, its distinctive Celtic atmosphere bringing… Gary Moore to mind, there is still something to be found in Go Down Fighting, Tequila Suicide, Road to Hell, Why, Gypsy Rebels, Loud & Clear, as well as the bonus tracks House of Rock and I Am.

I just don't know if there are still enough people out there willing to pick it up.
