Εδώ ζει η γλίτσα; 

Στο τέταρτο άλμπουμ των Αμερικανών συνωνύμων του death metal είδους έχουμε κάποια μικρά νέα στοιχεία, αμυδρά πιο groove και ένα κλικ πιο ήπιο σε ταχύτητα, αλλά κοντά στο ύφος τους πάντα και σε αρκετά επίπεδα με το προηγούμενο αριστούργημά τους, το «Covenant». Είναι ένας δίσκος που, στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του '90, υποτίθεται ότι θα ήταν ο φάρος που θα έδειχνε το μέλλον για το ιστορικό αυτό σχήμα. Αντίθετα, η αποχώρηση του μπασίστα και τραγουδιστή David Vincent, μετά την περιοδεία για το άλμπουμ, σίγουρα δεν άφησε τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις, όσο κι αν ο Steven Tucker στάθηκε επάξια στη θέση του για τα επόμενα άλμπουμ. 

Περίεργα για τον αρχικό δίσκο το ομώνυμο σχεδόν κομμάτι «Dominate» — ποτέ δεν το θεώρησα ξεχωριστό. Από εκεί και πέρα, τα «Where the Slime Live», «Eyes to See, Ears to Hear», «Nothing but Fear», «Dawn of the Angry», «Caesar's Palace», «Inquisition (Burn With Me)», και ακόμα το φτιαγμένο με αρκετά synthesizers («Hatework») είναι τυπικά δείγματα δουλειάς τους, οπότε σίγουρα αφήνουμε με θετικό πρόσημο αυτό το άλμπουμ.

Is this where the slime lives? 

In the fourth album by the Americans synonymous with the death metal genre, we find some small new elements—slightly more groove, and a slightly softer tempo, but always close to their style and quite comparable to their previous masterpiece, “Covenant”. This was an album that, in the mid-1990s, was supposed to serve as the beacon indicating the future of this historic band. 

Conversely, the departure of bassist and vocalist David Vincent after the album's tour certainly didn't leave the best impressions, even though Steven Tucker stood valiantly in his place for the subsequent albums. 

Strangely, the almost self-titled track "Dominate" was never considered special by me, especially for the opening album. Beyond that, songs like “Where the Slime Live”, “Eyes to See, Ears to Hear”, “Nothing but Fear”, “Dawn of the Angry”, “Caesar's Palace”, “Inquisition (Burn With Me)”, and even the one crafted with quite a few synthesizers (“Hatework”) are typical examples of their work. Overall, we can definitely look upon this album positively.
