Εξώφυλλο με καρτούν; Ωχ!..

Τί έχω πει για αυτό το είδος εικαστικής τέχνης; Ότι κοσμεί αμφίβολα έργα; Ε να ένα απ' τα έργα αυτά! Μετά τη ντίσκο του I Was Made For Loving You στο Dynasty, η σχεδόν pop αισθητική εδώ μας αποτελείωσε. Και εντάξει, πήγαν κι αυτοί να βρουν νεότερη γενιά ηλικιακά στην οποία να έχουν απήχηση αλλά, οι Kiss είστε, όχι οι Queen! Τώρα το Is That You που ανοίγει το δίσκο κρύβει κάτι. Μετά το Shandi, μας ξενερώνει άγρια ευτυχώς το Naked City παρακάτω ισιώνει λίγο τον ήχο αλλά εις μάτην! Το Tomorrow τρώγεται μεν αλλά.... Πιο κάτω και...λίγο πριν το τέλος το Torpedo Girl κι αυτό είναι απλά "ΟΚ" και τέλος. Η τάση διάλυσης μετά τα τέσσερα προσωπικά άλμπουμ των μελών το 1978 κρύφτηκε κάπως στο Dynasty, αλλά εδώ...Η αλήθεια είναι ότι μάλλον δεν παίζει ντραμς ο Peter Criss αλλά ο ντράμερ του Ace Frehley απ' τον δικό του δίσκο ο πολύ καλός Anton Fig. Ή τουλάχιστον δεν παίζει παντού! Τριγμοί κι απ' τον Ace που στο Talk To Me τραγουδάει κιόλας, για τελευταία φορά.

What have I said about this type of visual art? That it adorns questionable works? Well, here’s one of those works! After the disco hit "I Was Made For Loving You" on *Dynasty*, the nearly pop aesthetic here has utterly finished us off. Sure, they tried to appeal to a younger generation, but come on, you’re Kiss, not Queen!

Now, the opening track "Is That You" has something hidden beneath it. After "Shandi," we’re somewhat disappointed, but thankfully "Naked City" manages to slightly salvage the sound, though it’s in vain! "Tomorrow" is passable, but… As we move further and just before the end, "Torpedo Girl" is simply “OK,” and that’s about it. The signs of disintegration after the four solo albums of the members in 1978 were somewhat concealed in *Dynasty*, but here… The truth is, it seems that Peter Criss isn’t playing drums but rather Anton Fig, the excellent drummer from Ace Frehley’s solo album. At least, he’s not playing on every track! There are also hints from Ace, who sings in "Talk To Me," marking his last vocal contribution.
