Grammy-nominated doom pioneers CANDLEMASS have
announced the release of their new EP, *Black Star*, set for May 9, 2025, via
Napalm Records, celebrating their impressive 40-year legacy.
The title track “Black Star” blends haunting melodies
with introspective lyrics, featuring the iconic vocals of Johan Längqvist.
Written by Leif Edling, it explores themes of existential struggle and
darkness, encapsulated by CANDLEMASS' signature sound. The release is
accompanied by a dark, atmospheric music video. Pre-orders for the EP are now
live!
CANDLEMASS states: “‘Black Star’ is the big heavy
track. It includes a melodic verse, a monolithic riff, an up-tempo Sabbathy
mid-part, and a grand ending a 'la Rainbow!”
