Μία μπάντα που της αξίζει το πρόθεμα Cult πριν τον επιθετικό προσδιορισμό Back Metal ίσως στο πιο γνωστό και σε σειρά  δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους που πραγματικά έσωσε το γόητρο της νορβηγικής σκηνής και επέτρεψε να συνεχίσει να είναι η κοιτίδα του είδους και για άλλες μπάντες του είδους. Lord Kaiaphas φωνή, Aphazel κιθάρες και μπάσο, Kimberly Goss γυναικεία φωνητικά, Kjetil ντραμς και σίγουρα έχετε δεί το κλασικό low budget βιντεοκλίπ για το The Cainian Chronicle Part II: Lilith’s Embrace κομμάτι που εκείνη την εποχή έκανε συχνή εμφάνιση στις metal εκπομπές. Ένα τόσο κλασικό άλμπουμ σε παραγωγή του Dan Swano με όλη τη παγωμένη μεγαλοπρέπεια των συνθέσεων του συγκροτήματος που μας παρουσιάζει την ιστορία της πραγματικής πρώτης γυναίκας του Αδάμ της Λίλιθ και της πρώτης αδελφοκτονίας δηλαδή της ιστορίας του Κάιν που επέφερε την πτώση στη γη του ανθρώπου σύμφωνα με τα απόκρυφα μυστικιστικά κεφάλαια που η επίσημη αβρααμική θρησκεία επέλεξε μην προβάλλει. Τα Prophecy of Gehenna, Song of Kaiaphas, Cry of Mariamne, At the Infernal Portal (Canto III)  όπως και το δεκατριάλεπτο Homage to Pan είναι επίσης μερικές απ' τις παρά πολύ καλές στιγμές στον δίσκο.

Honest and pitch-black.

A band worthy of the Cult prefix before the descriptive term Black Metal, perhaps at their most famous and sequential second album that genuinely salvaged the honor of the Norwegian scene. It allowed it to continue being the cradle of the genre for other bands. Lord Kaiaphas on vocals, Aphazel on guitars and bass, Kimberly Goss on female vocals, Kjetil on drums, and you’ve surely seen the classic low-budget music video for "The Cainian Chronicle Part II: Lilith’s Embrace" that frequently appeared on metal shows back then. This classic album, produced by Dan Swano, captures the band's icy grandeur, presenting the story of Lilith—Adam’s real first wife—and the first fratricide, the tale of Cain, leading to humanity's fall to Earth, as per the apocryphal mystic chapters not showcased by official Abrahamic religions. Tracks like "Prophecy of Gehenna," "Song of Kaiaphas," "Cry of Mariamne," "At the Infernal Portal (Canto III)," and the thirteen-minute "Homage to Pan" are also some of the very standout moments on the record.
