Έχουμε νικητή από νωρίς.

Η κούρσα των πάλαι ποτέ θηρίων του κλασικού Heavy Metal ήχου έχει τις πρώτες δεκαετίες του 21ου αιώνα να μας δείξει αχανείς απογοητεύσεις επί εικοσαετίες, μεγάλες επιστροφές στους πάτριους ήχους και φυσικά αρκετές ευτυχώς υπέρ -δισκάρες. Η πιο πρόσφατη τέτοια περίπτωση μετράει πέντε μέρες ύπαρξης στον πλανήτη (απ' τη μέρα που βγήκε μέχρι τη στιγμή που γράφονται τα παρόντα) κι είναι αυτό το τέρας με την "ανίκητη ασπίδα" σαν τίτλο κι εξώφυλλο. Αν είναι δυνατόν αυτοί οι δεινόσαυροι να ακούγονται τόσο φρέσκοι όσο πριν τριανταπέντε και πιο πίσω χρόνια! Ανελέητο κοπάνημα με συνθέσεις αντάξιες του ονόματος που κουβαλάνε απ'το 1971-72 (πιο πριν βασικά αλλά το μετράω απ' την εποχή Halford), οι αυτοανακηρυγμένοι "μέταλ θεοί"  μας δείχνουν τί θα πει ο τίτλος τους αυτός σε αυτό το άλμπουμ.  Έχοντας μόνο τέσσερις ακροάσεις στο στερεοφωνικό μου απ' το περασμένο Σάββατο που το προσέθεσα στη συλλογή, με έχει κερδίσει 100%. Έντεκα κομμάτια θα έχει κανονικά σε L.P. αλλά η αρχική Digibook CD έκδοση έχει δεκατέσσερα παρακαλώ και δεν υπάρχει κανένα έλεος! Μπορώ να πω ότι τα Panic Attack, Invincible Shield, Devil in Disguise, Gates of Hell, Trial by Fire, As God is my Witness, Escape form Reality, Sons of Thunder, Giants of the Sky, Vicious Circle (απ' τα bonus της έκδοσης) ήδη χαράχτηκαν στο playlist τους  στο ταπεινό μυαλό μου. Οι κύριοι Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Ritchie Faulkner, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis κι o μακρυμάλλης  πάλι Andy Sneap σε ρόλο τόσο τρίτου κιθαρίστα και παραγωγού μας έχουν ήδη ξανακερδίσει.

The race of the once-mighty beasts of classic Heavy Metal sound has shown us vast disappointments over the first decades of the 21st century, great returns to their native sounds, and fortunately, quite a few superb albums. The most recent such case has been on the planet for five days (from the day it was released until the moment these words are written) and it is this monster with the "Invincible Shield" as its title and cover. It's incredible that these dinosaurs sound as fresh as they did thirty-five years ago and even earlier! Relentless pounding with compositions worthy of the name they have carried since 1971-72 (actually earlier, but I count from the Halford era), the self-proclaimed "metal gods" show us what their title means in this album. Having only four listens on my stereo since last Saturday when I added it to my collection, it has won me over 100%. It will normally have eleven tracks on the L.P., but the initial Digibook CD edition has fourteen, and there is no mercy! I can say that Panic Attack, Invincible Shield, Devil in Disguise, Gates of Hell, Trial by Fire, As God is my Witness, Escape from Reality, Sons of Thunder, Giants of the Sky, Vicious Circle (from the bonus tracks of the edition) have already etched themselves into my humble mind's playlist. Messrs. Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Ritchie Faulkner, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis, and the long-haired Andy Sneap again in the role of both third guitarist and producer have already won us over again.
