Πρώτο για τη μεσαία εποχή τους.

Οι Καναδοί με πρωταγωνιστή τον κιθαρίστα και τραγουδιστή Lips Kudlow και το .... ερωτικό βοήθημα με το οποίο παίζει κιθάρα επι σκηνής (ναι, τόσο μερακλής!) στον πρώτο ίσως αδύναμο δίσκο της καριέρας τους. Και να σκεφτεί κανείς ότι με αυτό κι με το επόμενο Pound for Pound του 1988, τους έμαθα, μπορεί να απορήσει γιατί το λέω. Αντικειμενικά δεν είναι κακό άλμπουμ αλλά τα πρώτα τρία τους έργα νομίζω απέχουν γαλαξιακή απόσταση. Η παρέα περιλαμβάνει τους Ian Dickson μπάσο, Dave Allison ρυθμική κιθάρα και βεβαίως τον κύριο Robb Reiner στα ντραμς. Έχει κάποια κομμάτια πάντως που μου έχουν μείνει χαραγμένα στο μυαλό σαν τα Concrete Jungle, 9-2-5, I Dreamed it Was the End of the World, Mad Dog, Kiss of Death, Paper General και βεβαίως η ανάμνηση του δίσκου βινυλίου απ' το παλιό Rock City για 1200 Δρχ. στη ζελατίνα του με το κλασικό κόψιμο μετά τη γωνία στο χαρτόνι του εξωφύλλου απ' το τελωνείο που ήταν γνώριμο κακό σε δίσκους εισαγωγής, φέρνει πίσω όμορφες αναμνήσεις ακόμα.

First for their middle era. 

The Canadians, led by guitarist and vocalist Lips Kudlow, along with the... *ahem* intimate accessory he uses to play guitar on stage (yes, he's that much of a character!), deliver what might be their first weak album of their career. And to think that this and the next one, *Pound for Pound* (1988), were the albums that introduced me to them—it might make you wonder why I say that. Objectively, it's not a bad album, but I think their first three works are galaxies apart. The band includes Ian Dickson on bass, Dave Allison on rhythm guitar, and, of course, Mr. Robb Reiner on drums. It does have some tracks that have stuck with me, like "Concrete Jungle," "9-2-5," "I Dreamed it Was the End of the World," "Mad Dog," "Kiss of Death," "Paper General," and of course, the memory of the vinyl record from the old Rock City store for 1200 drachmas, still in its plastic with that classic cut on the corner of the sleeve from customs—a common issue with imported records—brings back fond memories.
