ALIEN WEAPONRY Announce New Album, "Te Rā" and Drop First Single "Mau Moko"

 

New Zealand groove metal trio ALIEN WEAPONRY kicks off their North American tour today, announcing their upcoming album, *Te Rā*, set for release on March 28, 2025, via Napalm Records. This ambitious project showcases their most powerful and mature sound to date, blending cultural lyricism in English and te reo Māori. Produced by Josh Wilbur, *Te Rā* features a guest appearance from Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God and emphasizes themes of resilience through heavy grooves and technical prowess. The band also released a new single, "Mau Moko," honoring traditional Māori tattooing and addressing the cultural revival efforts amidst colonization's impact. Lyricist/bassist Tūranga Porowini Morgan-Edmonds highlights the importance of preserving Māori traditions in the face of adversity.
