Με
τη μεταγραφή του Νορβηγοταϊλανδού Roy Khan στη θέση του τραγουδιστή από τους
πρωτοπόρους του progressive metal, Conception, η μπάντα βρήκε νέα κατεύθυνση
προς τον κλασικό progressive power metal ήχο. Ο νεαρός τότε Khan είχε την
κατάλληλη φωνή για το ευρωπαϊκό στυλ που χαρακτηρίζει τους Αμερικανούς Kamelot,
και με αυτό το άλμπουμ τους πρωτοάκουσα. Αυτός ο δίσκος περιέχει κομμάτια όπως
η ηρεμία πριν την καταιγίδα "Providence", το δυναμικό
"Millennium", τα "King's Eyes", "Expedition",
"Where I Reign", καθώς και το επηρεασμένο από την εποχή Rising των
Rainbow κομμάτι "Parting Visions", "Irea",
"Rhydin", "Siege"... και πολλά άλλα! Από αυτόν τον δίσκο
και για τα επόμενα τέσσερα άλμπουμ, η μπάντα θα σπάσει όλα τα ρεκόρ!

New Beginning: The addition of Norwegian-Thai vocalist
Roy Khan from progressive metal trailblazers Conception marked a turning point
for their band, steering them towards a more traditional (if you could call it
that) progressive power metal sound with this album. The youthful Khan had just
the right vocal prowess for the distinctly European style of the otherwise
American Kamelot, and it was through this CD that I first discovered them.
Laden with tracks like the tranquil "Providence," the explosive
"Millennium," "King's Eyes," "Expedition,"
"Where I Reign," and the Rainbow-inspired "Parting
Visions," reminiscent of the Rising era, as well as "Irea,"
"Rhydin," "Siege," and more, this album had it all! From
this point onward, and through their next four albums, these guys would go on
to shatter all records!
