Al Atkins, a foundational figure among the creators of JUDAS PRIEST, has etched his name indelibly into the annals of heavy metal history. A key contributor to the composition of iconic tracks during the early days of the legendary band, he left an indelible imprint. Yet, fueled by an unyielding and creative spirit, Atkins refused to rest on past accomplishments. In 2010, he joined forces with the accomplished guitarist, producer, and writer Paul May, giving birth to the Atkins/May Project.

Their inaugural album, "Serpents Kiss," unleashed in 2011, is now experiencing a rebirth through Sleaszy Rider Records. Acquainted with Al Atkins' musical legacy, one can easily anticipate the sonic journey within this album: classic heavy metal with nuances of hard rock. The sound, undoubtedly influenced by JUDAS PRIEST, pleasantly astonishes with its diverse compositions. As authentic Britons, Atkins/May Project seamlessly weave in nods to NWOBHM and BLACK SABBATH, enveloping these traditional elements with a contemporary and crystalline production. Noteworthy is the exceptional craftsmanship evident in the guitar leads and solos.

"Serpents Kiss" transcends mere collector's appeal; it stands as a pinnacle release in the realm of classic heavy metal. With each listen, the album unfurls an increasing tapestry of energy and diversity. Tracks like "The Shallowing," "Traitors Hand," "Fight," and "Judge" demand attention, leaving an enduring mark on the listener's musical consciousness.
