Οι Αμερικάνοι από το Όρεγκον είναι κι αυτοί, με τη σειρά τους, ο ορισμός του τι εστί "cult" συγκρότημα, με ρίζες που χάνονται βαθιά στις απαρχές της δεκαετίας του '80. Τους βρίσκουμε εδώ στο πρόσφατο άλμπουμ τους, σε μεγάλα και ατελείωτα κέφια. Αμερικανικό Power Metal, με ιδιαίτερη μελωδία και ηχητική χροιά, φωνή (Michael Podrybau), η οποία τουλάχιστον σε μένα φέρνει στο μυαλό μια μίξη Geoff Tate των Queensryche εποχής «The Warning» ή «Rage for Order» και λίγο από τον Midnight (RIP) των Crimson Glory. Ο δίσκος έχει όλα εκείνα που ψάχνουμε ακόμη οι θιασώτες του είδους αυτού. Και μπορεί να έχει, ανεπίσημα, συμβεί ένα είδος επαναφοράς στα μουσικά δρώμενα των '80s από πολλά σχήματα, παλιά αλλά και νέα, αλλά ο συγκεκριμένος δίσκος στέκεται επάξια και με το παραπάνω. 

Έχοντας οκτώ κομμάτια, πρακτική που θυμίζει και αυτή τα παλιά άλμπουμ, όπου στο νούμερο οχτώ ή εννιά σταματούσαν, θα ξεχωρίσω τα «Eldest and Truest», «Live for the Whip», «Rode Out», «Sands of Time», «Valor», «Into the Night» και «Infidel» σαν τις κορυφαίες στιγμές του.

Since the Ice Age. 

The Americans from Oregon are also, in their own way, the embodiment of what a "cult" band is, with roots that go deep into the early 1980s. We find them here on their recent album, in great and endless spirits. American power metal, with distinctive melody and sound, featuring vocals (Michael Podrybau) that, at least to me, evoke a mix of Geoff Tate from Queensrÿche's “The Warning” or “Rage for Order” era, and a bit of Midnight (RIP) from Crimson Glory. The album has all the elements that fans of this genre still seek. 

And while unofficially there might be a kind of revival of '80s musical trends by many bands—old and new—this particular album stands tall and proud. 

With eight tracks, a practice reminiscent of old albums that often stopped at the eighth or ninth song, I will highlight "Eldest and Truest," "Live for the Whip," "Rode Out," "Sands of Time," "Valor," "Into the Night," and "Infidel" as the standout moments.
