Απ' αυτό ξεκίνησα κι εγώ.

Ο δρόμος δεν έχει επιστροφή , το ελληνικό βινύλιο της Polygram δεν είχε στο εξώφυλλο το δέρμα του φιδιού ανάγλυφο όπως το ίδιο LP πιο πίσω που μάλλον ήταν βρετανικό ή το αρχικό αμερικανικό Warner Records, αλλά η τιμή τότε στο μεταχειρισμένο ήταν 1200δρχ. ενώ το εισαγωγής έγραφε 3000δρχ. ! Στο ταμείο ο γνωστός βινυλιάς της οδού Φωκίωνος Νέγρη μου λέει το κουφό:  "Καλά έκανες και πήρες το ελληνικό, είναι πιο καλός ο ήχος, απλα το άλλο είναι για συλλέκτες κι το χτυπάω πιο ακριβά!"  Δεν έμαθα τότε αν είχε διαφορετική χροιά ήχου το παλιό μου άλμπουμ απ' το ξένης κοπής, αλλά δε θα κάτσω να σκάσω κι όλας. Το καλύτερο άλμπουμ των Alice Cooper (των, ήταν συγκρότημα ακόμα κι όχι σόλο) της δεκαετίας του '70, πλέον το CD με περιεχόμενο σαν best of  με τα ακόμη κι σήμερα παρόντα στις ζωντανές εμφανίσεις του άρχοντα  Hallo Hooray, Elected (η διασκευή  του Bruce Dickinson παρέα με τον Mr. Bean στο βίντεο κλιπ ακόμα με κάνει να γελάω), Billion Dollar Babies, No More Mr. Nice Guy (στο οποίο έχει γίνει τίμια διασκευή απ' τους Megadeth θυμίζω),  Generation Landslide που το επανεκτέλεσε ο Alice σόλο το 1981 στο Special Forces άλμπουμ του και το σκοτεινό I Love the Dead να κυριαρχούν, τί άλλο χρειάζεται να γράψω γι' αυτό;

That's how I started too.

The road has no return; the Greek vinyl from Polygram didn’t have the embossed snake skin cover like the same LP that came out earlier, which was probably British, or the original American release from Warner Records. But back then, the used one was 1200 drachmas, while the import was listed at 3000 drachmas! At the counter, the well-known vinyl dealer from Fokionos Negri street told me something surprising: 'You made a good choice taking the Greek version; it has better sound quality. The other one is just for collectors, and I sell it for a higher price!' I didn’t find out then if my old album had a different sound profile from the foreign copy, but I wasn’t going to stress over it.

The best album by Alice Cooper (back when he was still a band and not a solo act) from the 1970s is now available on CD, featuring hits like "Hello Hooray," "Elected" (the cover by Bruce Dickinson along with Mr. Bean in the music video still makes me laugh), "Billion Dollar Babies," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy" (which was also respectfully covered by Megadeth, as a side note). "Generation Landslide," which Alice re-recorded solo in 1981 for his Special Forces album, and the dark "I Love the Dead" dominate the tracklist. What more is there to say about it?"
