Δύο δισκάκια και σαν cd, ένα από τα πρώτα αμοιγως προοδευτικά τους, ας πούμε η αρχή της τελευταίας τους περιόδου ως τον θάνατο του ντράμερ John Bohnam, που ήταν το τέλος τους πέντε περίπου χρόνια ύστερα. Ιστορικά είναι κατά κάποιο τρόπο και συλλογή. Αρκετά κομμάτια ήταν απομεινάρια από την εποχή του Led Zeppelin III , Four Symbols (IV) και του Houses of the Holy και μαζί με τα οχτώ νέα τους που έγραψαν, απαρτίζουν το άλμπουμ. Αγαπημένα Custard Pie, The Rover, Houses Of The Holy (η πρακτική να βάζεις το ομονυμο τραγούδι του προηγούμενου δίσκου σε επόμενο, ξεκινάει εδώ!), Trampled Under Foot, Down By The Seaside, Ten Years Gone και βέβαια ο απόλυτος ύμνος το θεϊκό Kashmir.

Epic on a grand scale... Spanning two discs, this album stands as one of their early forays into pure progressive rock. It signifies the commencement of their final era, culminating tragically with the passing of drummer John Bonham about five years later. From a historical perspective, it serves as a unique compilation. A number of tracks are remnants from the Led Zeppelin III, Four Symbols (IV), and Houses of the Holy periods. These, coupled with eight new compositions, collectively shape the essence of the album.

Among the standout tracks are Custard Pie, The Rover, and the self-titled Houses Of The Holy (a practice of seamlessly transitioning from the eponymous track of the previous album is ingeniously initiated here). Additionally, Trampled Under Foot, Down By The Seaside, and Ten Years Gone add depth and variety to the collection. Yet, the absolute pinnacle arrives with the divine anthem that is Kashmir.
