Ενθρόνιση, πραγματικά.

Οι Νορβηγοί σε αυτόν, τον τρίτο δίσκο τους πλέον δεν έχουν τίποτα να αποδείξουν παραπάνω απ' την ουσία της μουσικής τους. Black Metal, ναι αλλά με τόσο ιδιαίτερο στυλ, πολλά πλήκτρα που δίνουν βάθος κι αέρα, συμφωνικό τρόπο σύνθεσης και ερμηνευτική δεινότητα απ' το λαρύγγι του Shagrath, τότε εδώ έχουμε τον πρώτο σταθμό στη δισκογραφία τους,  το άλμπουμ που τους κάνει ευρύτατα γνωστούς και πλέον αποδεκτούς σε ολόκληρη τη Metal κοινότητα, όχι μόνο στους οπαδούς των πιο ακραίων υποειδών. Μάλιστα όταν ξεκινάει ένα CD με το θρυλικό Mourning Palace, ένα τραγούδι "σήμα κατατεθέν" του συγκροτήματος πραγματικά, μπορείς να περιμένεις πολλά. Silenoz σε κιθάρες, Stian Aarstad πλήκτρα και πιάνο, Tjodalv ντραμς και Nagash μπάσο είναι τα υπόλοιπα μέλη του σχήματος στον δίσκο αυτόν. Πέραν του εναρκτήριου ύμνου που προαναφέρθηκε τα Spellbound (By the Devil), In Death's Embrace, The Night Masquerade, Tormenntor of Christian Souls (μην ετοιμάζετε την πυρά ακόμα, τους καίτε  άλλη φορά), Master of Disharmony, Prudence's Fall,  A Succubus in Rapture είναι το υλικό που θα μείνει αξέχαστο εδώ.

The Norwegians, with their third album, have transcended the need to prove themselves, focusing solely on the essence of their music. Yes, it's Black Metal, but with a uniquely distinctive style, enriched by keyboards that add depth and atmosphere, symphonic compositions, and Shagrath's vocal mastery. This album marks a pivotal moment in their discography, propelling them into widespread recognition and acceptance across the Metal community, far beyond the realm of extreme subgenres. And when a CD kicks off with the legendary "Mourning Palace," you know you're in for something extraordinary. Silenoz on guitars, Stian Aarstad on keyboards and piano, Tjodalv on drums, and Nagash on bass complete the lineup for this masterpiece. Alongside the opening anthem, tracks like "Spellbound (By the Devil)," "In Death's Embrace," "The Night Masquerade," "Tormentor of Christian Souls" (don't reach for the stake just yet, save it for another time), "Master of Disharmony," "Prudence's Fall," and "A Succubus in Rapture" etch themselves into memory as unforgettable gems.
