NO
CLASS ASSASSINS are a hardcore metal band from Port Huron MI. Formed in 2009 in
a dingy broken down garage in Columbus township overlooking Gratiot Avenue, No
Class Assassins took shape. Writing songs about simple minded people, battling
depression, drug addicts and other subject matter most can relate to, "The
Cruel Fate Of Destiny" was recorded and released through Hell-Fi Records
out of Lansing in late 2019 before the covid-19 crisis hit. Destin Taylor is
the current drummer for the band while Todd Bright is the drummer you hear like
a fine-tuned machine on the debut album. Dave Kelsey has a unique intense skill
on the ESP guitar reminiscent of Hatebreed's chug mixed with eerie Slayer
riffs. Speaking of unique, Chris Stotler's bass attack is in perfect placement
opposite the guitar with churning bass lines and creepy tones. Finally,
vocalist Jay Crimson casts a brand of harsh shrieks over the whole mix that is
very hardcore punk while scattering in death metal gutterals and Anselmo-esque
low talks and groaning sequents. Overall, the production is bare bones but
excellently executed with minimal effects that surprisingly work and tie
everything together. Listening to the live examples of newer tracks with
current drummer Destin Taylor, it doesn't leave much to the imagination that
the best is yet to come.
