While I acknowledge the appeal of modern power metal,
there's a nostalgia within me for the classic '90s sound that defined my
musical roots. PALANTIR's EP effortlessly transports me back to that era,
reminiscent of bands like EDGUY, HAMMERFALL, and RHAPSODY whose albums still
captivate me.
The seven tracks in this release showcase skillful and
traditional power metal. The lyrics oscillate between optimism and
introspection, fittingly earning the EP its title, 'Nightmare Opus.' PALANTIR
skillfully explores symphonic power metal, evoking the early works of RHAPSODY,
and even incorporates elements reminiscent of DRAGONFORCE's Nintendo power
metal.
This release, with its diverse influences, strikes a
