Δέκατο σε κυκλοφορία, δεκάρι (σχεδόν) και γενικότερα.

Πειραματικό Black Metal; Για πολλά χρόνια το τελευταίο τους αποκλειστικά black. Όχι ότι μας χαλάνε τα επόμενα, πειραματικά σε ήχο άλμπουμ βέβαια! Η συγκινητική πλευρά είναι στην αφιέρωση του cd στη μνήμη του Quorthon ηγέτη των πρωτοπόρων Bathory, που είχε χαθεί πρώιμα από ανακοπή. Έχουμε εδώ ίσως και τους πρώτους πειραματισμούς αλλά είναι λιγότερο εμφανείς π.χ την εισαγωγή του άλμπουμ που μάλλον τη λες electronica. Πάντως τα Hate is The Law, Information Wants to be Syndicated, Rawness Obsolete, Straightening Sharks in Heaven μου αρέσουν πιο πολύ. Έχει και κάποια άσματα σε νορβηγική γλώσσα που δεν ξέρω τι λένε, αλλά ηχητικά είναι Dark Throne όσο και τα κομμάτια στη γλώσσα τους στο Transylvanian Hanger. Γενικά από το Total Death άλμπουμ τους του 1996 και μετά ήδη βλέπουμε ότι η μπάντα ανοίγει τους ορίζοντες της.

Tenth on the charts, almost a perfect ten all around.

Experimental Black Metal? For many years, they've delved exclusively into the black metal genre. But that's not to say we don't appreciate their subsequent experimental soundscapes in their albums! What truly strikes a chord is their heartfelt dedication of the CD to the memory of Quorthon, the visionary leader of Bathory, who tragically departed prematurely due to a heart attack.

In this body of work, we perhaps witness some of their earliest experiments, though they may be less overt, such as in the album's introduction, which leans more towards an electronica vibe. However, personally, I find tracks like "Hate is The Law," "Information Wants to be Syndicated," "Rawness Obsolete," and "Straightening Sharks in Heaven" to be more to my liking. There are even some songs in the Norwegian language whose lyrical content remains a mystery to me, yet sonically, they evoke the same essence as the rest of the album, particularly "Transylvanian Hunger."

In summary, starting from their 1996 album "Total Death," it's evident that the band was already pushing the boundaries of their musical horizons.
