This release is truly remarkable! It marks my first encounter with this band, and I owe the discovery to a friend's recommendation. It might just stand as one of their most outstanding releases to date. It beautifully merges the worlds of black and thrash metal, resulting in a distinct and captivating fusion. The vocals are truly impressive, showcasing the band's skillful musicianship.
The guitar riffs are a standout, and the production
quality is nothing short of exceptional. The chorus, with its timeless refrain,
"kill, kill, kill... kill for the metal," adds a classic touch to the
album. These musicians deliver a refreshing take on black/thrash metal,
seamlessly navigating between fast and slow tempos. Their riff creativity is
consistently original. Hailing from Chicago, this band, though having been
dormant for a while, remains intact, with some of its members also contributing
to another band called Bones, known for their distinct sound and stellar live
performances.
The album is irresistibly catchy, with unique and
memorable riffs that maintain their quality from start to finish. The powerful
vocals and rhythmic precision make each track a genuine pleasure. This album's
distinctive blend of genres, particularly for those unacquainted with this
fusion, lends it a captivating and unique appeal. I only wish I had stumbled
upon this band sooner.
The top-notch production quality enhances the album's
overall allure, and there are numerous standout tracks worth mentioning. All in
all, it's an intelligently crafted release from a Chicago-based metal band, and
I eagerly await more of their music, even if the lineup undergoes changes.
Their upward trajectory is undeniable.
I'm thrilled to have discovered this CD, even though
its cost was a bit steep. I strongly encourage you to explore this album on
platforms such as Spotify or YouTube; it might just lead you to make a
purchase. This album excels in every aspect—music, sound quality, and overall
dedication. Don't hesitate; give it a listen soon, if not right away!
