Αρχή, το ήμισυ του παντός.

"Πρωτοαλμπουμακιας" δεν είμαι , αλλά αυτό το ντεμπούτο έδειξε το δρόμο του αψεγάδιαστου 80 ως το 1988 (μέσα βέβαια και το ασύλληπτο ζωντανό Live After Death ...).

Οι Maiden ξεκίνησαν  Χριστούγεννα του 1975, μέσα από πολλές αλλαγές μουσικών με σταθερή αξία το "αφεντικό" μπασίστα και βασικό σύνθετη και στοιχουργο , Steve Harris και τον κιθαρίστα Dave Murray κι έφτασαν στη σύνθεση του 1979-80 και στον πρώτο τους δίσκο με τον ημίθεο Paul Di Anno στο μικρόφωνο, Dennis Straton στη δεύτερη κιθάρα και τον αείμνηστο Clive Burr σε ντραμς. Στην επανέκδοση CD του 1999 κάποιος αχαρακτηριστος πείραξε τα μάτια του Eddie στο εξώφυλλο του Derk Riggs κι από άσπρα τα έκανε κόκκινα. Επίσης έγινε πιο ψηφιακό το κάδρο του όλου πίνακα. Κατά τα άλλα η προσθήκη στη 2η θέση του Sanctuary είναι νομίζω δικαίως η καλύτερη προσθήκη σε ένα άριστο tracklist. Δεν θα αναφερθώ σε κομμάτια, το 100% του δίσκου είναι τέλειο.

"While I may not be a debut album fan," this inaugural release paved the way for the flawless era of the '80s, lasting until 1988 (including the iconic "Live After Death," naturally...).

Iron Maiden's journey commenced during Christmas in 1975, amidst a series of changes in band members. The unwavering anchor was the "master" bassist, primary composer, and lyricist, Steve Harris, accompanied by guitarist Dave Murray. They solidified their lineup in 1979-80, resulting in their first album with the semi-legendary Paul Di'Anno on vocals, Dennis Stratton on the second guitar, and the unforgettable Clive Burr on drums.

In the 1999 CD reissue, an unknown artist subtly altered Eddie's eyes on Derek Riggs' cover, changing them from white to red. The overall artwork also embraced a more digital aesthetic. Notably, the addition of "Sanctuary" in the second position on the tracklist stands as a justifiable enhancement. I won't delve into individual songs; the entire album is undeniably flawless.
