DISSORTED were found in
Munich Germany back in 2004 and recently they have recorded their first 5 track
EP which carries the indicative title “I”. I think that this is a good choice
for the band in order to introduce themselves to the audience and in their effort
to find a deal with a label. After all it has proven that less is more.
THE COVER: Well, it is quite minimalistic and I think it proves the
attitude of the band which is straight to the point. The cover has a grey fond
and upon it you can see the name of the band and the title “I”. It might not be
something great but it does its job.
MUSICAL STYLE: DISSORTED might be from Germany, but their sound is
mostly oriented in the U.S. metal sound. Specifically, they play thrash metal
that is mostly influenced by the bay area thrash metal scene and such bands
like ANTHRAX, EXODUS, TESTAMENT and SLAYER. In my opinion they also have some
resemblances to the great German thrash metal band PARADOX.
COMPOSITIONS: The 5 compositions that DISSORTED have included here
are faithful to the thrash metal sound that the bands serves, which means that
you listen to fast compositions with sharp riffs, some melodic leads and of
course solos. All the compositions that are included here are well composed and
reflect the passion of the band and its imagination. My favorite songs though
are: “Bloodshed Divine”, “Eaten Alive” and “Operation Observation”. The other 2
tracks are also good, though the above ones are my personal favorites.
CONCLUSION:
DISSORDER in their first official studio release offer us a thrash metal
sound that is rooted in the 80’s, but also has a fresh and modern production.
They prove they are efficient and talented as musicians to deliver some very
good thrash metal compositions and their EP can satisfy even the most demanding
of the thrash metal fans. I strongly believe that if they continue on the same
way as with this EP, then the future belongs to them.
