MECHANICAL ORGANIC –
This Global Hive Part Two
Independent
Perhaps I’m not the most objective person when
it comes to this band, but I think that MECHANICAL ORGANIC are one of the most
special and unique bands out there and as their name clearly implies they have
found the recipe to create music that is both mechanical and organic, music
that balances perfectly between its more intense and aggressive parts and its
melodies and atmospheres. The band hails from Australia, it has been around for
over a decade now and has delivered four full length works including this one as
well as two EPs. I’ve been following them since the very beginning and the
change, evolution and progression of their music over the years is impressive
to say the least. Now we find them at their best I think with “This Global Hive
Part Two” continuing lyrically where Part One left us. The band likes to delve
into conspiracy theories, spirituality and such topics which are very thought
provoking. So, I can say that not only their music but their lyrics too are
food for thought… they are the kind of band that refines your taste and
broadens your horizons. Anyway, enough with that so let’s move on to the
musical aspect of “This Global Hive Part Two” where you will have the chance to
listen to some of the finest progressive metal compositions. MECHANICAL
ORGANIC’s music encompasses a great deal of elements and a vast array of
progressive metal sounds from old school to more modern ones and yet what makes
this band and their albums amazing is the fact that they have a recognizable
and eclectic sound. However, if you’d like to get a better idea as to how they
sound imagine a mixture of NEVERMORE, QUEENSRYCHE, KAMELOT, SYMPHONY X,
EVERGREY and the likes and you have formed a vague image. The songs are intense
with sharp riffs, heavy rhythms, beautiful solos and shreds, mesmerizing
keyboard parts that enhance the variety and depth of the compositions and make
them more colourful and all this is topped by an incredible and very talented
vocalist who elevates the compositions with his performance. All in all, what
I’m trying to say is that MECHANICAL ORGANIC is a band that the fans of
progressive and pioneering music should definitely check out. They are a force
to be reckoned with!
