Ακόμη μία ιστορία απ' το παρελθόν.

Και αυτοί εδώ οι τύποι με το ιδιόμορφο όνομα που ανήκουν στο νέο βρετανικό χεβυ μέταλ κίνημα των αρχών των 80s , έχουν αξιόλογη πορεία στο χώρο της βαριάς  ηλεκτρικής μουσικής και βεβαίως με το ντεμπούτο τους αυτό εδώ μπήκαν στο "πρωτάθλημα" της εποχής. Ηχητικά κοντά σε Saxon  περισσότερο αλλά και σε Def Leppard του On Through the Night, το Wild Cat είναι ένας δίσκος για όσους αναπολούμε το NWOBHM ακόμα, μαθαίνοντας συγκροτήματα και καλλιτέχνες της μικρής κατηγορίας του που μας είχαν (αδίκως) ξεφύγει. Φωνή ο Jess Cox, κιθάρα ο Robb Weir, Richard Laws μπάσο κι Brian Dock τύμπανα η σύνθεση τους εδώ και μαζί με το άλμπουμ στο CD υπάρχουν κομμάτια απ' τα δύο Ε.Ρ. τους ανεβάζοντας τον αριθμό σε 18 τραγούδια. Euthanasia, Slave To Freedom, Money, Killers, Wild Catz, Badger Badger, Insanity είναι τα πιο αγαπημένα απ'το κυρίως άλμπουμ ενώ η διασκευή στο Tush των ZZ Top,  Straight As Ι Die, Bad Times, Burning Up κι Alright On The Night απ' τα bonus δίνουν την επιπλέον γεύση τους. Να σημειωθεί ότι η παραγωγή του δίσκου είναι του θρυλικού Κύπριου παραγωγού και ηχολήπτη Chris Tsangarides (RIP) γνωστού τότε για την δουλειά του στο Sad Wings Of Destiny των Judas Priest με τους οποίους θα ξανασυνεργαστεί στο Painkiller του '90.

Another story from the past.

These guys, with their unique name, belong to the new British heavy metal movement of the early '80s and have made a significant mark in the realm of heavy electric music. With this debut album, they stepped into the "big league" of the time. Musically, they are reminiscent of Saxon, but also have touches of Def Leppard's “On Through the Night”. “Wild Cat” is a record for those of us who still reminisce about the NWOBHM, introducing bands and artists from this lesser-known category that we may have (unjustly) overlooked.

The lineup features Jess Cox on vocals, Robb Weir on guitar, Richard Laws on bass, and Brian Dock on drums. In addition to the album, the CD includes tracks from their two EPs, bringing the total to 18 songs. Standout favorites from the main album include "Euthanasia," "Slave to Freedom," "Money," "Killers," "Wild Catz," "Badger Badger," and "Insanity." The bonus tracks include their cover of ZZ Top’s "Tush," along with "Straight As I Die," "Bad Times," "Burning Up," and "Alright On The Night," adding a delightful extra flavor.

It’s worth noting that the album was produced by the legendary Cypriot producer and sound engineer Chris Tsangarides (RIP), who was well-known for his work on Judas Priest's “Sad Wings Of Destiny”, with whom he would later collaborate again on “Painkiller” in 1990.
