Η σοβιετική heavy metal μπάντα Aria (ρωσική πλέον, συνεχίζουν χωρίς διακοπή) σε οδούς που δεν περίμενε κανείς στον δήθεν ελεύθερο κόσμο της ακόμα πιο δήθεν ορθής πλευράς των ανιστορητων!  Την ίδια περίοδο οι πιο γνωστοί Gorky Park από τη Μόσχα σε πιο Glam Rock ήχο επίσης ξεκινούν. Θα  πει κανείς μα καλά, δεν υπήρχαν ιδεολογικά-πολιτικά εμπόδια; Μπορεί, η αγγλική γλώσσα ήταν η γλώσσα του αντιπάλου την εποχή του ψυχρού πολέμου, ακόμη  η "δυτικής τεχνοτροπίας" μουσική αντιμετωπίζονταν με καχυποψία την εποχή εκείνη, αλλά ποιος θα πει ότι η σκληρή μουσική δεν είναι η ίδια απ' τη φύση της μια  ιδεολογία; Οπότε οι πέντε φίλοι μας με επιρροές πιο πολύ ευρωπαϊκού ήχου, παίζανε περίπου σαν μια μίξη Helloween , Accept, Motorhead και Europe, φτάνουν στον δίσκο αυτόν. Αυτή είναι η αρχική ηχογράφηση μιας και το άλμπουμ επανηχογραφηθηκε 20 χρόνια μετά. Είπαμε ότι οι στίχοι είναι στα ρωσικά; Προφανώς είναι  και γιατί όχι! Nostrovia... λοιπόν πίνοντας τη μπίρα σας ή τη βότκα ακούγοντας το CD. Χρειάζεται είτε καλή γνώση της ρωσικής, είτε να βρείτε τη μετάφραση για να δείτε ήρωες της ασφάλτου να βγαίνουν από το άλμπουμ αυτό.

Soviet Union and Metal

The Soviet heavy metal band Aria (now Russian, still active without interruption) took paths no one expected within the supposedly free world of an even more supposedly correct, yet historically uninformed side! Around the same time, the more widely known Gorky Park from Moscow also emerged, leaning towards a Glam Rock sound. One might ask, didn’t ideological and political barriers stand in the way? Perhaps so—English was the language of the Cold War opponent, and "Western-style" music faced significant suspicion in those days. But who’s to say that heavy music itself isn’t inherently a form of ideology?

So, our five friends, with mostly European-sounding influences, played a mix reminiscent of Helloween, Accept, Motörhead, and Europe, reaching this milestone album. This is the original recording, as the album was re-recorded 20 years later. Did we mention the lyrics are in Russian? They are—and why not! So, *Nostrovia...* as you sip your beer or vodka and listen to this CD. You’ll need either a solid grasp of Russian or a translation to witness the heroes of the open road emerging from this album.

ZIVANISHED Unveil Their New Song "Avvakoum"

 

The band's latest song, released on 17/10/24, addresses the scandal at Avvakoum Monastery, where monks were "selling" miracles. The news disgusted the band members so much that they decided to dedicate a song to the issue. The lyrics and music were composed by Louie (guitar, vocals), with contributions from Konstantinos and Miguel during rehearsals. They worked hard to blend the song's diverse elements seamlessly. Influences from blackened crust, Sepultura, Rotting Christ, and Slayer can be heard throughout the track.

The members of the band are producer/writer FHEDESH, lead singer/writer Sin Savio, and guitarist Dark Lord Raven. SWAZA6 emerged from the underground Gothic & BDSM warehouse scene during the pandemic. This duo are the creators of the new genre DracWave. FHEDESH is the creator and curator of DRAC'HAUS, the number one underground Gothic club in Los Angeles.

A Stāte øf Mīnd release new single "Wizzard"

 

American modern heavy metal band A Stāte øf Mīnd has released their new single, "Wizzard," recorded at Global Destruction Studios by Danny Hardt and mixed/mastered by J.P. Braddock. The track is part of their upcoming six-track EP, "Sanity of Madness", set for release in March 2025 on Self Made Records LLC with Earache Records handling digital distribution and GlobMetal Promotions leading the campaign. Formed in Texas in 1994, A Stāte øf Mīnd began their journey when four friends, inspired by icons like Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Queensryche, came together to craft music that reflects intense emotional states and experiences. Their debut track, "Wardance," was composed on their very first practice day, setting the tone for their career.

Religion Professor Cristiano Coppa Releases New Single “Parusìa”

 

Cristiano Coppa, a religion professor from Italy's Marche region, returns with his new single "Parusìa", now available on digital platforms with a lyric video by Lev Studio.

The title "Parusìa"—meaning “presence” in Greek—refers to the divine presence, and in Christian theology, to the anticipated return of Jesus Christ at the end of time. The song explores humanity's timeless longing for infinity, salvation, unity, and love that only an eternal presence can fulfill.

The track is a collaborative effort featuring:
