Όλο και πιο βαθιά στο έρεβος.

Οι Άγγλοι πρωτομάστορες κι αυτοί στο extreme είδος που λέγεται Black  Metal, αφού πέρασαν πολύ κοντά και στο Gothic στυλ (όπως αρκετοί της συνομοταξίας) και μπήκαν γερά στον 21ο αιώνα, εδώ μας παρουσιάζουν έναν άλλο εαυτό της πολυσχιδούς ψυχής τους. Πιο πολύ Blackened Thrash,  πιο εύληπτο στιχουργικά αλλά πάντα στα σκοτεινά δρομάκια τους ενεδρεύει το κακό με κάθε μορφή έτοιμο να σε κατασπαράξει. Dani Filth φωνή, ουρλιαχτό και θανατηφόρο growl, Adrian Erlandsson στα ντραμς για τελευταία φορά μετά από χρόνια, Paul Allender και Charles Hedger κιθάρες, Dave Pybus μπάσο και η συνεργάτης επί χρόνια Sarah Jezebel Deva στα δεύτερα, περιέργως όχι οπερετικά φωνητικά σε ένα σύνολο του οποίου η παραγωγή έγινε απ' τον κιθαρίστα των Anthrax Rob Caggiano και τον αγαπητό νυν κιθαρίστα στους Judas Priest, Andy Sneap. Το ντουέτο της παραγωγής, δικαιολογεί και το πιο mainstream metal που παίζεται εδώ από το σινάφι του Dani Filth, πιο ρυθμικό (groovy που λέμε στο χωριό μου!) και με λίγα σχετικά κιθαριστικά σόλο σε κομμάτια σαν τα Dirge Inferno, Tonight in Flames, Libertina Grimm, The Byronic Man (ντουέτο με τον Ville Vallo των HIM), I Am the Thorn, Lovesick for Mina, Rise of the Pentagram, Unter Huntress Moon είναι τα πιο catchy (που λένε στο άλλο χωριό μου!!).

Deeper into the abyss.

The English pioneers, masters of the extreme genre known as Black Metal, after venturing close to the Gothic style (like many of their peers) and firmly entering the 21st century, present us here with another facet of their multifaceted soul. The sound is more Blackened Thrash, with more accessible lyrics, yet in their dark alleys, evil in all its forms still lurks, ready to devour you. Dani Filth delivers vocals with screams and deadly growls, Adrian Erlandsson plays drums for the last time after years with the band, Paul Allender and Charles Hedger are on guitars, Dave Pybus on bass, and their long-time collaborator Sarah Jezebel Deva provides backing vocals—interestingly, not in an operatic style this time. The production is handled by Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano and the well-known current Judas Priest guitarist Andy Sneap. This production duo justifies the more mainstream metal sound played here by Dani Filth's crew—more rhythmic (or "groovy," as we say in my hometown!) and with relatively few guitar solos in tracks like "Dirge Inferno," "Tonight in Flames," "Libertina Grimm," "The Byronic Man" (a duet with Ville Vallo of HIM), "I Am the Thorn," "Lovesick for Mina," and "Rise of the Pentagram." "Under Huntress Moon" are the catchiest tracks (as they say in the neighboring village!!).
