LECTERN is a veteran band from Italy, they exist since
1999 and this is their 6th release (3 EPs and 3 full length albums) and they deliver
brutal death metal, close to the USA sound with a black metal touch. “Deheadment
for Betrayal” contains 8 brutal, clear as hell death metal anthems. The sound
is clear and the musicianship is excellent.
Groovy and rhythmic guitars make you want to headbang.
The rhythm section is on time and heavy as it can be and the voice is the
cherry on the cake, brutal, brutal and brutal!!!
The stuff reminds me a lot of MORBID ANGEL, OBITUARY,
CANNIBAL CORPSE, POSSESSED and many others. Surely a nice piece of album for a death
metal fan. The cover is killer drawn by German artist Andreas Marschall,
worldwide known for many famous illustrations of the best metal acts around
like IMMOLATION, HATE ETERNAL, OBITUARY, MORDRED, SODOM, KREATOR, BLIND
GUARDIAN, HAMMERFALL, DESTRUCTION, GRAVE DIGGER, RUNNING WILD, NOCTURNAL RITES,
IN FLAMES and MESSIAH.
“Deheadment for Betrayal” is a proper investment for a
decent death metal album collection.
