Uncompromising death metal vibe here from a band that's in the Bay Area (Oakland, CA). These guys know how to write some heavy stuff and on purpose. The hate just flows and the energy of the album is pretty high. Some serious in your face death metal that's well played-out. I got into this album right away. It was easy, their guitars the riffs especially suck you in as a listener. The vocals go well with the music, it's not screaming or growling, it's low-end with a tinge a bit like what's featured on the new Exhumed (vocal-wise). It blends perfectly into the guitars and production sound. The mixing was excellent on here.

A purely solid album here, even though it's 12 years since its release, I felt compelled to write about this one especially because it's one of their best releases in my opinion. The production quality was a little bland, but the music and vocals are the highlights to this release. They have some pretty heavy songs on here. It's heavier than their new release (2018). I admire the originality in the songwriting category I felt that was their strongest component to making this album listenable. All the songs rock, even if they're only a few minutes in length and a little over 30 minutes in length. They have a lot to offer here.

Peruvian Thrash/Death Metallers MAZE OF TERROR have just inked a deal with Xtreem Music for the release of their second album which is currently being written for a recording sometime in 2019. As an appetizer, the band have just released 3 days ago, a digital EP entitled "Evoked Black Souls”.

MAZE OF TERROR was born in 2011 with the aim of creating a raw and devastating Thrash/ Death Metal and released their 1st EP "Skullcrusher" in 2012, followed by a split CD with AMKEN in 2015 and then their debut full length album "Ready to Kill" in 2016. Later in 2017, another split CD came out, this time with WITCHAVEN and in 2018 the band self-released a digital-only EP entitled "Evoked Black Souls", just when the band got signed with Xtreem Music. The style of MAZE OF TERROR is influenced by bands like INFERNÄL MÄJESTY, MERCILESS, MASSACRA, PROTECTOR, DEMOLITION HAMMER... so you'd better give them a listen now!!

Έχω ήδη γράψει αρκετά στις προηγούμενες παρουσιάσεις μου των κυκλοφοριών του Ιταλού κιθαρίστα γι’ αυτόν. Εδώ θέλω να σημειώσω απλά ότι μετά την κυκλοφορία του δίσκου «F*ck*d Alien» που όπως ήδη γνωρίζετε είναι συλλογή από συνθέσεις του που δημιούργησε κατά το χρονικό διάστημα από το 2012 μέχρι το 2017, ο Carmelo αποφάσισε να επανακυκλοφορήσει και όλες του τις δουλειές που κυκλοφόρησε στο ως άνω χρονικό διάστημα με αναλογική επεξεργασία. Σε προηγούμενη κριτική μου παρουσίασα το πρώτο του δίσκο με τίτλο «The Iron Man», εδώ θα μιλήσω για τις δουλειές του με τίτλο «Gemini Man» και «Cosa Loro, Please».

Εκτιμώ τα βιβλία εκείνα και φυσικά τους συγγραφείς τους που ασχολούνται με ιστορικά θέματα όχι τόσο γνωστά. Με θέματα που σου δίνουν την αφορμή να τα ψάξεις περισσότερο. Κι ο Αντώνης Αντωνιάδης κάνει αυτό ακριβώς με το παρόν βιβλίο του.

Altar of Madness released debut album

Mexican Death Metal band ALTAR OF MADNESS released their debut album «Tales Beyond the Vortex». The album was recorded in "Lugra Burn's Studio", and mixed/mastered by Bryan Shortell.

ALTAR OF MADNESS was formed in 2014 at Colima, Mexico. Composed by Bonzo (Vocals), Lugra (Lead guitar) and Fab Chav (Drumms). In 2017 Kraken joined the band as their new rhythm guitarist, and the band start to work on their debut album.

GATES OF PARIS - Gates Of Paris Album

French Symphonic Power Metal band Gates Of Paris released their debut self-titled album. The album was recorded in "StudioArtMusic Studio" and mixed/mastered by Damien Rainaud (ONCE HUMAN).

Gates Of Paris was formed in 2016 by ex-Kerion guitarist Remch Carrayrou at Nice, France. Soon after Raphael Dantas (vocal), Damien Rainaud (drums) and Steph Papasergio (bass) jopined the band, and the lineup was complete.

Solid production quality, uncompromising KRISIUN never ceases to amaze the listener! Though I'm in favor of 'Conquerors of Armageddon' as their best release, this one, however, hits home with a vengeance. It's not all blast beating it's solid death metal that's probably nay arguably their best release since 'Conquerors...'. That's just my opinion though. Think of it what you wish, I think they changed it up a bit and have slower tempos musically and a great mixing/recording quality. I loved every song on here. I never knew that music like this is possible, it really stunned me that this is where KRISIUN leaves the mark.

These are tracks that weren't featured on 'The Holographic Principle'. They're still simply awesome, with intelligent lyrics and beautiful orchestrations. If you don't like synthesizers, you won't like this band. Hands down. This EP is rather invigorating and noteworthy. It's incredibly diverse with Simone's epic vocals mixed with harsh voice. The rhythms on here are HEAVY, but there's one song that's entirely acoustic. Simply amazing riffs and vocals. Simone is one of the best female vocalists in METAL today. Some critics may argue that and say maybe Tarja is but I don't think so.

Οι TOY CALLED GOD, για να είμαι ειλικρινής, με μπέρδεψαν όταν συνέκρινα το όνομά τους με το εξώφυλλο της νέας τους κυκλοφορίας και ειδικά το πίσω μέρος αυτού. Το όνομα του συγκροτήματος με έκανε να σκεφτώ ότι είχα να κάνω με μια μπάντα σύγχρονου ροκ, ίσως και λίγο εναλλακτικού, αλλά στο οπισθόφυλλο από το βιβλιαράκι της παρούσας κυκλοφορίας βλέπεις κάτι ανάποδους σταυρούς κι έναν τραγοκέφαλο ιερέα να κηρύττει σε μια αιματοβαμμένη και πολύ σατανική εκκλησία… Οπότε εδώ ισχύει το ποτέ μην κρίνεις κάτι από το όνομα και το εξώφυλλό του.

Don't expect this one to be fast, because it's not really their style(s). Entering the realm to SARKE's depressing black/thrash metal. I'd have to say though it was worth buying the CD. It was a little expensive, but I thought that I'd give it a shot. I liked the album right away. Their vibe is such that their evil but the thrash metal guitars. The vocals are what make this album "evil" and the music is at a pretty slow tempo. Good production though and the synthesizers in the background enhance the dark, melancholic sound to the album. Everything on here is awesome though, the guitars, the vocals, the atmosphere and the production quality. Everything on here is mixed well.

Swedish Melodic Death Metal band Corrosive released their new single «Angry Me». The single was recorded at "Dark City Sound Records", mixed by Erik Berglund and mastered by Kenny Boufadene in "Meltdown Studio".

Corrosive was formed in 1997 by Johan Bengtsson at Iggesund (Sweden) and have since then released a number of recordings and have mainly played at clubs and festivals in Sweden with bands like The Hellacopters, Amaranthe, Engel, Dead By April, Corroded, Freedom Call and many more.

Σχετικά νέα μπάντα οι Αμερικανοί ANCIENT EMPIRE, αλλά και παραγωγικότατοι. Το συγκρότημα δημιουργήθηκε το 2012 κι από το 2014 μέχρι και σήμερα έχει κυκλοφορήσει 4 ολοκληρωμένες στούντιο δουλειές με την παρούσα να αποτελεί την υπ’ αριθ. 4. Παρόλο που δεν μετράει πολλά χρόνια ζωής το συγκρότημα αυτό, στη σύνθεσή του συμμετέχουν μουσικοί που έχουν εμπειρία στην underground metal σκηνή. Χαρακτηριστικά θα αναφέρω ότι στους ANCIENT EMPIRE συμμετέχουν μουσικοί που έχουν παίξει και σε συγκροτήματα όπως οι RAPID FIRE και οι HELLHOUND.

This album is so grim and evil, it achieves its gold medal on that. Perfectly orchestrated, the absolute best BELPHEGOR I've ever heard. The music and the vocals are simply awesome. As is the production quality. This is not an album to listen to when you're melancholic. It's totally depressing and vile.  Just hear it when you want to listen to quality death/black metal. The tempos are slow, but the music is awesome. The vocals go with the voice very nicely.  What a gem of a release. It's simply an original and Satanic metal album that sucks you into the vibe. The bit on the synthesizers augments the albums goal entirely.

Εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον κι απολαυστικό βιβλίο που σε εισάγει στη λογοτεχνία επιστημονικής φαντασίας κατά την εποχή της Σοβιετικής ένωσης. Τα διηγήματα είναι ευφάνταστα και καλογραμμένα, αλλά το κυριότερο δεν έχουν να ζηλέψουν σε τίποτα από την λεγόμενη χρυσή εποχή της Ε.Φ. που εμφανίστηκε στο δυτικό κόσμο.

Γνωρίζουμε όλοι ότι το heavy metal είναι μουσική που ξεκίνησε από τη Μεγάλη Βρετανία και ότι στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 70 και τις αρχές του 80 ο ήχος αυτός ανανεώθηκε μέσω του κινήματος του NWOBHM που κυριάρχησε στην χώρα αυτή. Η πραγματικότητα, βέβαια, αυτή έχει τόσο υπερτονιστεί και δικαιολογημένα ως ένα βαθμό, αλλά έχει και την συνέπεια να θεωρούμε ότι εκείνη την περίοδο πουθενά αλλού στον κόσμο δεν υπήρχε αυτός ο ήχος. Τουλάχιστον αυτό συνέβη σε εμένα.

DREAMSENSE - «Glasswall» Single

Russian Symphonic Metal band DREAMSENSE released their new single «Glasswall». The single was recorded in "Chaika Studio" and mixed/mastered at MxD Recordings (Berlin).

DREAMSENSE was formed in 2012 at Moscow by the tenor vocalist George Ognev. In 2015 the band released their first demo “Feel Alive” and played shows in Russia with bands like Eluveitie, Witchcraft and Fiend. These days the band is working on their debut full-length album,  that will be released in 2019.

Pretty even tempos on here, nothing too fast or slow. We'll just keep them in the death metal category. This release is pretty solid you get 10 tracks one of which is a cover ("Terrible Certainty" by KREATOR), which was a good way to end the album. The rhythms on here reflect that of the older releases, namely 'Terror Regime', et al. I have to say it was worth it to wait for a new release like this. It's really solid, the guitars are my favorite part of the album. They're noteworthy, riff-tastic and the combination between them and the vocals will keep them on going for years to come. I especially liked the guest vocals by Schmier (DESTRUCTION, ex-PANZER) on the track "Fearmonger."

Thy Despair - “The Free One” EP

Ukrainian Symphonic Metal band Thy Despair released their new EP «The Free One». The EP was recorded in "PystelnukArt Studio", and mix/mastered in "TA Promotion". The EP was released in two variants: in English and in Ukrainian languages, in order to get across to the English speaking audience the idea of liberating struggle and aspiration for freedom of nation in general and personality in particular.

The band was formed by guitarist Phil (a.k.a. Nephilim) in 2006 at Kiev, Ukraine. Today Thy Despair lineup is: Elin (soprano), Phil (guitar / growl), Strike (guitar), Navka (keyboards), Tokha - bass and Alex (drums).
