I actually like this album more than their newer material!  The music is better, so is the production and vocals.  Quite an array of thrash galore and not so much death metal here, they seem to blend those two genres together.  The vocals are a little different from what I'm used to, but the music is top notch!  A lot of memorable riffs here and quite a sum of variety, too!  Everything fit together on this release.  Nothing seems to really lag, the energy is high up there.  All 10 tracks are good, there weren't any that I though were lesser than others.  They really seemed to put their creative juices to work on this one.

Μετά από τόσα χρόνια στην υπόθεση παρουσίασης δίσκων έχω καταλήξει στο συμπέρασμα ότι είναι ωραίο να σε ξαφνιάζει ένα συγκρότημα με τη νέα του δουλειά. Ναι, το αποτέλεσμα μπορεί να σε ικανοποιεί, να σε απογοητεύει ή να σε αφήνει αδιάφορο, αλλά από την άλλη δείχνει τη διάθεση του μουσικού να εμπλουτίσει την μουσική που δημιουργεί και με άλλα στοιχεία. Και για να μην παρεξηγηθούν τα γραφόμενα μου, όταν λέω εμπλουτίσει δεν σημαίνει ότι αλλάζω εντελώς το ύφος μου και παίζω κάτι διαφορετικό αλλά ότι κρατάω την μουσική μου ταυτότητα και σε αυτήν προσθέτω κι άλλα στοιχεία. Χαρακτηριστικό τέτοιο παράδειγμα είναι οι JUDAS PRIEST.

I think this is a solid release as well as line-up.  Except for the fact that they don't have Mick Harris anymore.  He seemed to be the driving force when it came to grindcore.  But Napalm changed into more of a death metal band than grind.  This is a solid release nevertheless.  It's got both elements to it: grind and death metal.  The energy is high up there and the riffs are mind boggling.  This is another newer generation of Napalm that I like.  A lot of their newer material is OK but I prefer the old.  This has a good sound to it and vibe.  I think old school Barney is the best but he's doing good on here as well.

Russian Melodic Heavy Metal band INSOMNIA CONTINUUM released their new single «Against the Fall of Night». The single was recorded in the band's home studio, and mixed/mastered at " Varlamov Studio" by Sergey Varlamov.

INSOMNIA CONTINUUM was formed in Moscow in 2020 by Marina Pavlova (vocals), Boris Sergeev (vocals) and Alexey Matveichev (guitar). Inspired by the music of Blind Guardian, Helloween and Falconer, as well as masterpieces of English romantic poetry, the musicians recorded two singles - ‘The Listeners’ and ‘Insomnia’ in 2020. The events of February 2022 influenced the band's music and lyrics - the music became harder, drier, moving away from fantasy metal with a clear influence of folk closer to classic heavy / progressive metal.

Lichtensteinian Melodic Gothic/Doom Metal band BLACK REUSS released their new album «Journey». The album was recorded at the band's home studio, and produced by Maurizio Dottore. Mixed by Roberto Macis at "Solid Twin Studio", and mastered by Giovanni Versari at "La Maestá Studio".

STELLAGEN released debut album

 

Australian Thrash/Melodic Death Metal band STELLAGEN released their debut album «From Dying Stars». The album was recorded mixed/ mastered by Brendan Sloan at Overland Studio, South Australia.

STELLAGEN was formed in Sydney, Australia in 2019 with the simple goal of making metal they wanted to listen to: heavy yet melodic, with memorable choruses and shredding guitar solos, incorporating elements from death/ black metal but with the sense of melody and catchiness of power metal in both the vocals and guitars. The band features Phil Brown (Vocals/ Guitars), Jimmy Lardner-Brown (Guitars) and Symon Haddad (Bass) with session drums provided by Robin Stone.

Οκ στην Ελλάδα έχουμε μάθει στα ημίμετρα στην πατέντα στο δεν βαριέσαι βρε αδερφέ. Συνηθίσαμε να δουλεύουμε ερασιτεχνικά και με το φιλότιμο σε πολλές πτυχές της ζωής μας. Λίγες είναι οι εξαιρέσεις όπου μπορείς να αναφέρεις ως παράδειγμα ότι κάτι δουλεύει καλά στην χώρα αυτή. Ε, μέσα σε αυτές τις εξαιρέσεις είναι και η Ελληνική metal σκηνή όπου χρόνο με το χρόνο δείχνει ουσιαστικά βήματα προόδου κι αποδεικνύει ότι δεν έχει να ζηλέψει σε τίποτα άλλες σκηνές που δουλεύουν για χρόνια σε επαγγελματικό επίπεδο. Βέβαια στην σκηνή μας υπάρχει ακόμη το μεράκι, το φιλότιμο στοιχεία που βοηθούν πολλά συγκροτήματα να ξεπεράσουν τις όποιες δυσκολίες συναντούν.

I was taken aback after hearing this! What a speed/thrash killer release!  Vocals sound a little like Warbringer's vocalist but a little bit different and the music is top notch.  I totally dig the riffs on this one.  Definitely innovative for them being that this is my first exposure to this band.  I enjoyed the album immensely!  Though, there's too many solos for my taste.  But the intensity is on just about every track!  With exceptions, of course.  This album has the grit to be strong the whole way through!  I think that's it's deserving of a "B" rating overall.  I found it to be straightforward and consistently good!

ADDIKTH released new EP

 

Russian Groove Metal band ADDIKTH released their new EP «Visions». The release was recorded at "Sirius Studios" and mixed/mastered by Amin Shadmanov.

ADDIKTH was formed in 2011 by guitarist Daniel in Moscow, but active work was started only in 2017 when a permanent lineup was formed and the band released their debut EP "“The New Sun” and “Against You All” in 2019. In 2020 the band released their last single “Crimson Sky”.

Όπως έχω κατά καιρούς γράψει η δεύτερη κυκλοφορία μετά το ντεμπούτο είναι πολύ κομβική ως προς την μουσική πορεία ενός συγκροτήματος. Εκεί δείχνει το συγκρότημα αν έχει προοδεύσει, αν έχει καταφέρει να μπολιάσει τον ήχο του και με άλλα στοιχεία χωρίς όμως να αποκλίνει από το μουσικό είδος που υπηρετεί. Ξέρουμε όλοι για συγκροτήματα φωτοβολίδες που κυκλοφόρησαν έναν πολύ καλό πρώτο δίσκο και μετά εξαφανίστηκαν. Επίσης γνωρίζουμε και συγκροτήματα που έμειναν πιστά στον ήχο τους αλλά κατάφεραν να τον κάνουν με κάθε κυκλοφορία όλο και πιο ενδιαφέροντα. Συνήθως, αυτή η δεύτερη κατηγορία έχει αποδειχτεί ότι έχει μεγαλύτερη διάρκεια ζωής και ποιότητα στην metal μουσική σκηνή.

Chilean Melodic Black Metal band WANGELEN released their new single «Religion de la materia». The release was recorded in "Huichahue HD studio" and engineered by Nihil Records in Santiago-Chile.

WANGELEN was formed in 2005 at Temuco, Araucania by Pillanche as a one-man band with several stable and guest musicians. During the years the band released 5 full length albums and made many experiments with their musical style - from Polyphonic Black Metal, Folk Metal and acoustics with orchestral arrangements.

Την συγκεκριμένη κυκλοφορία την έχω ακούσει εδώ και πολύ καιρό και για να πω την αλήθεια εξακολουθώ να την ακούω συχνά πυκνά. Δυστυχώς, όμως, διάφορες υποχρεώσεις από την δουλειά δεν μου επέτρεψαν να γράψω παρουσίασή της συντομότερα. Ακόμη κι αυτή τη στιγμή ξεκλέβω κάποιο χρόνο από την δουλειά μου για να κάνω την παρουσίασή της μιας και πιστεύω ότι είναι μια πολύ αξιόλογη κυκλοφορία και κυρίως μια κυκλοφορία που είχε ανάγκη η ελληνική metal σκηνή.

Swiss Progressive Stoner/Sludge Metal band DESERT GATAN released their new album «Mental War». The album was recorded and mixed by Spiga Serge and mastered by Alan Douches from "West West Side Music Studio".

DESERT GATAN was formed in 2009 at Brig, Valais by Rudolf Schwery (Guitars/Vocals), Marc Eichenberger (Guitar), Alain Dulio (Bass) and Manuel Zurwerra (Drums).

VULNIFICUS released new single

 

American Brutal Death Metal band VULNIFICUS released their new single «The Incredulous Invocation» from the band's upcoming EP "Invocation" that will be released on 10 June 2022. The release was recorded in "Demolition Studios", and mixed/mastered at "BWNTWN STN" by E. Browne.

VULNIFICUS was formed in 2021 by W. Sherels - All Instruments (Urotherapy, Epidermolysis) and E.Browne - Vocals (Abolishing the Ignominious). The band released their debut demo "INNOMINATION" in November 26, 2021.
