HOKEDUN
is a two member project based in the UK. This is their third demo release as
far as I know. Certainly, there is a lot
of work and love at what they do.
Actually,
HOKEDUN perform honest black metal the southern European way. Based on a
certain gloomy atmospheric background, they attack with a good black metal
sound direction the way that early DEVISER, early ROTTING CHRIST and THOU ART
LORD did.
Don't
get me wrong, the keyboards and programming don’t cut a bit from the brutality
and darkness of their black metal way; there are also bits and pieces of an early
DARK TRANQUILLITY feeling there too.
The
production is very clear and fits perfectly to the concept. The package of the
demo CD is unique and so cult for and underground outfit.
Recently
these guys told me, they aim for a vinyl edition of their recordings and it won’t
be that hard to get a deal.
