Η επιτυχία ήρθε με καταστρεπτικές διαθέσεις.

Αφού διάβηκαν τον Ρουβίκωνα με το ζωντανό άλμπουμ Alive, οι τέσσερις φίλοι Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley και ο Peter Criss, βρίσκουν πρώτα τη φόρμα τους στο Dressed to Kill κι εδώ απογειώνονται με άγνωστες συνέπειες τότε για τη καριέρα τους. Η τύποις, δεύτερη περίοδος της δισκογραφίας τους αρχίζει με αυτό, το επόμενο και δεύτερο για το 1976 Rock 'N Roll Over και εξέρχεται απ'τη στρατόσφαιρα με το Love Gun το 1977. Πάντως εδώ έχουμε σερί στα τρία πρώτα track του δίσκου με τα Detroit Rock City, King of the Night Time World, God of Thunder δηλαδή τρία απ' τα πιο γνωστά τους κομμάτια. Flaming Youth, το ανθεμικό Shout it Out Loud, τη τεράστια μπαλάντα Beth με τη φωνή του Peter Criss και το Do You Love me? ακολουθούν κατά πόδας και ακόμη μας συνεπαίρνουν δεκαετίες μετά.

After crossing the Rubicon with their live album “Alive”, the four friends—Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss—first found their groove with “Dressed to Kill” and then skyrocketed with unknown consequences for their careers. The so-called second phase of their discography kicks off with this album, followed by their second release of 1976, “*Rock 'N Roll Over”, and then ascends to the stratosphere with “Love Gun” in 1977. Notably, the first three tracks of this album consist of "Detroit Rock City," "King of the Night Time World," and "God of Thunder"—three of their most iconic songs. Following closely are "Flaming Youth," the anthemic "Shout It Out Loud," the massive ballad "Beth," featuring Peter Criss's vocals, and "Do You Love Me?"—all of which continue to captivate audiences decades later.
