Όλοι έχουμε τις αδυναμίες μας σαν άνθρωποι. Ειδικά στην μουσική, όλοι μας αγαπάμε κάποια στοιχεία που αν τα βρούμε σε ένα συγκρότημα μας κάνει να το εκτιμήσουμε. Είναι τα δικά μας κλισέ. Γι’ αυτό και διαφωνώ πολλές φορές με την αρνητική σημασία που δίνεται στην λέξη αυτή (κλισέ). Αυτά είναι στο κάτω κάτω που προσδιορίζουν ως ένα μέρος το χαρακτήρα και την προσωπικότητά μας. Από την άλλη ποτέ δεν θεώρησα ποτέ τον εαυτό μου κριτικό μουσικής, γιατί αυτή η έννοια πάντοτε στο μυαλό μου είχε μια σημασία αρνητική, κάπως ελιτίστικη και υποκριτική. Ποτέ δεν μου άρεσε η λογική ότι κάτι πρέπει να ναι πρωτότυπο για να είναι καλό. Όχι, η μουσική αρκεί να είναι καλή, δεν είναι απαραίτητο να ναι και πρωτότυπη. Με αυτή τη λογική που με διέπει σε κάθε παρουσίαση μου, θα σας περιγράψω και την παρούσα κυκλοφορία.

ONUS BAAL released debut album

 

Spanish Heavy/Power Metal band ONUS BAAL released their debut self-titled album. The release was recorded in Estudiomathica (Cartaya, Huelva) by Santi García between February and December 2019.

ONUS BAAL was formed in December 2018 at Huelva (Spain) by Tomás Díaz (vocals/rhythm guitar), Javier Fraile (lead guitar), Fermín Cansino (drums) and Gabriel García (bass). The band was formed after the dissolution of the band "Sälem", which three of them belonged to.

FINSTERNIS released debut EP

 

American Melodic Black/Death Metal band FINSTERNIS released their debut EP «The Old Tongue». The release was recorded and mixed by Jose Del Rio at "River Sound Studio", and mastered by Alan Douches at "West West Side Music".

FINSTERNIS was formed in 2018 at Mobile, Alabama by Duel Guess (Guitars), Ben Watson (Guitars), Jacob Hines (Drums), and Jamie Jones (Vocals). Taking influences from classic black and roll like Venom, Modern U.S. black metal acts like Goatwhore, Bastard Sapling and Cloak while maintaining a healthy affinity for the Swedish melodic black metal popularized by Dissection, FINSTERNIS has a black metal sound readymade for the modern era.

DEATHROLL released their new live video concert

 

Japanese Black Metal band DEATHROLL released their new live video concert. The concert was filmed in "URAWA Narciss" during the COVID without an audience.

DEATHROLL was formed in 2011 at Fukushima, Japan by Kazu as a one-man band. The band have released 5 albums and the band was presented on the international sampler titled Imperative Music Compilation DVD including other major Metal bands such as Death, Destruction, etc. In September 2019 the band released their last album «A Sick Life» at STF-Records

Δεν υπάρχουν πολλές πληροφορίες σχετικά με το συγκεκριμένο συγκρότημα, οπότε θα σας μεταφέρω ότι βρήκα από τη σύντομη διαδικτυακή μου έρευνα. Οι LEADBREAKER είναι από την Σουηδία και η συγκεκριμένη δουλειά τους είναι το πρώτο στούντιο άλμπουμ τους που κυκλοφόρησε μέσω της StormSpell Records στις 17 Σεπτεμβρίου το 2020. Εγώ το παρουσιάζω τώρα, γιατί έχει περίπου μια βδομάδα που μου έστειλε σε digital μορφή το promo η εταιρία.

Greek Heavy Metal band HARD DISK DRIVE released their new EP «Whispers over the Sky». The release was recorded at "Jackalsound Studios", Gialova GR, and mixed/mastered by Thanos Karalis.

HARD DISK DRIVE was formed in 2010 by Dinos Fil, Panos L & Thanos K at their hometown Gargalianoi, Messinia. In 2015, after numerous shows, Paris X took over the lead guitar duties and the band entered Jammin.G Studios (Athens, GR) for the recording and production of their first EP "Sadistic Leader".

This Ohio based band spews out some pretty brutal death metal! They're new to me, but I'm glad that I was recommended to listen to the new album. It's fresh riffs and fast! But they're diverse, too. I really enjoyed this whole album. It's a step up from their EP. You can hear how they progressed musically since then. The leads aren't too bad either. The whole album I liked. The production quality is good on that front. I'd say the guitars are probably the pivotal point for the whole album. But the vocals are pretty sick, too! They make them sound even heavier. All the songs on here are noteworthy!

MORTALFALL released new single

 

Canadian Gothic Metal band MORTALFALL released their new single «Freedom». The release was recorded during the lockdown and testifies to the angst, anxiety and hope millions of people are experiencing, all longing for normalcy and for a return to conditions free from various restrictions. Damned though it may be, humanity prevails. Freedom returns.

Recorded at "GLIM AUDIO Productions", and mixed/mastered by Andrei Sin and Jon Mychal.

MORTALFALL was formed in 2016 at Toronto, Canada and consists of Anastasia Utoplova (vocals), Steven Savo (guitar), Tristan James Biggar (bass), Martin Drozd (keyboards), and Alejandro Carrier (drums). In April 2020 the band released their debut EP "Point of Departure".

Σήμερα η εξερεύνηση μας για κλασσικό heavy metal μας έφερε στην Μέση Ανατολή και συγκεκριμένα στην χώρα της Ιορδανίας. Στο παρόν άρθρο θα ασχοληθούμε με τους DRAGONRIDER που σαν συγκρότημα υπάρχουν εδώ και πολλά χρόνια. Πιο συγκεκριμένα η μπάντα ξεκίνησε την σταδιοδρομία τους το 2007. Από τότε έχει κυκλοφορήσει 1 demo, 1 EP και 3 single. Το 2020, λοιπόν, είναι πολύ σημαντικό γι’ αυτούς αφού τους βρίσκει να κυκλοφορούν το ντεμπούτο τους με τίτλο «Scepter of Domination». Μάλιστα η κυκλοφορία αυτή έχει και μια έντονη Ελληνική αύρα, αφού τα φωνητικά έχει αναλάβει ο δικός μας Michalis Rinakakis που πιθανόν να γνωρίζετε κι από την παρουσία του στους AIR RAID.

I think that this a highly underrated album. Of course, the synthesizers we can do without, but the rhythm guitars are killer! The music just slays and the aura to the album is pretty eerie and evil. Silenoz varies in his vocals to his own style then clean. He's got one of the most unique voices in black metal. I'd say this is an above par symphonic black metal release. Too many people dismissing this as garbage. I'd say the newer material isn't very good, but this one is unique in its own way. I enjoyed every moment of it. The sound variety was the greatest experience with it. Absolutely!

Οι σύντροφοι από την Αγία Πετρούπολη της Ρωσίας ή αν έχετε και κάποιες πολιτικές ανησυχίες από το πρώην Λένινγκραντ, τον Ιανουάριο του 2020 κυκλοφόρησαν τον παρόντα δίσκο που είναι το δεύτερο στουντιακό τους άλμπουμ. This is vintage death metal from this band. It's odd like most of their releases in what they sound like. I would say that this is worth a "B" rating. It's good musically and with the vocals not to mention the production quality. I liked this EP a lot, their newer material I'm more a fan of. The old stuff I have a hard time getting into. Maybe it's the sound of the guitars/bass that reared me away from most of their releases. I'd say that they just are an acquired taste of a band. The vocals are just weird. It's not your typical death metal band. They have their own unique vibe to them. I'd say they have had a pivotal career making their death metal.

BLACK VOID CULT released debut album

 

Mexican Black Metal band BLACK VOID CULT released their debut album «Dysphoria». The release was recorded at "Saturn Digital Studios" and mixed/mastered by Alejandro Orozco.

BLACK VOID CULT was formed in 2017 at Mexico City by Nihblökk (Vocals/Guitars) as a one-man band, but soon after it's grown to a full lineup band joining Fernando Leon (guitars) and Moctte Zuma (Vocals) joined the band and the lineup was completed.

What an original, differently paced tempos, FAST/MEDIUM/SLOW black metal, it's all inclusive work! Screaming in pain, songs are lengthy, dark and depressing. You can hear everything in this production/mixing. Some songs are groove laden and catchy. One LONG album, but interesting nevertheless. Tremolo picking galore, and riff-tastic. The vocals mix well with the music. ATMOSPHERIC. Some lead guitar here, but not really that much. Mostly rhythm guitars, which is fine by me. Their lyrical concepts aren't very interesting just the music hits home with me. That and their vocals. It's hard to like certain black metal bands because of crappy vocalists.

Israeli Heavy Metal band DEAD ON IMPACT released their debut EP «Life Twitch».  The release was recorded, produced and mixed by Yonatan Kossov at "Bardo Studios" and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper at "TurtleTone Studios", NYC.

DEAD ON IMPACT was formed in 2010 at Tel Aviv, Israel by Felix Sandler (Lead Guitar) and Lahav Lutvack (Bass). The band went through various lineup changes over the years, with a short hiatus and the addition of new vocalist Daniel Vulikh in 2016 the three core piece worked on the debut EP Album and released it in 2020 and were joined by Idan Katz (Rhythm Guitar) and Elad Azar (Drums) to complete the new lineup.

Παλιοί γνώριμοι οι CROWN OF GLORY. Κάπου το 2001 θυμάμαι να παρουσιάζω το Demo τους με τίτλο «Destiny». Μια από τις ποιο ποιοτικές κυκλοφορίες που μου έτυχε να γράψω. Ακόμη ακούω τη συγκεκριμένη δουλειά. Με χαρά μου, λοιπόν, βλέπω, ότι το συγκρότημα όχι μόνο δεν το έβαλε κάτω, αλλά συνέχισε να δημιουργεί μουσική με αποτέλεσμα στις 11 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020 να κυκλοφορεί την τρίτη μεγάλης διάρκειας στούντιο δουλειά του με τίτλο «Ad Infinitum» για την οποία θα γράψω τις εντυπώσεις μου εδώ.
