Η Μουσική Λέσχη Νοσταλγοί Δεκαετιών 70 80 90 στην Πατρα σας προσκαλεί το Σάββατο, 4 Οκτωβρίου 2025, σε ένα μοναδικό live event με τους YOTH IRIA και MEDUSA’S WRATH, t.b.a.!

Την συναυλία θα ανοίξουν οι MEDUSA’S WRATH που το 2024 κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο τους με τίτλο «Pavor Exitium Mors» που απέσπασε θετικά σχόλια από την πλειονότητα του μεταλλικού τύπου.

Σύντομο Βιογραφικό:

Οι Medusa's Wrath είναι ένα συγκρότημα που ξεκίνησε τη μουσική του πορεία το 2019, δημιουργώντας heavy metal μουσική που καθηλώνει. Το πρώτο τους EP, «Lifeless Void», κυκλοφόρησε το 2021 και περιλάμβανε 5 δυναμικά κομμάτια που καθόρισαν τον ήχο της μπάντας.

Αφού πέρασαν από κάποιες αλλαγές στη σύνθεση, η τρέχουσα ομάδα περιλαμβάνει τους: Petros Kalivas – Guitar, Kristina Paftinou – Bass, Dimitris Dozis – Guitar, Theodoros Dimitriadis – Drums, Giorgos Chrisanthidis - Vocals

Το 2024, οι Medusa’s Wrath κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους με τίτλο «Pavor Exitium Mors», που υπογραμμίζει τη μουσική τους εξέλιξη και υπόσχεται να κερδίσει τις καρδιές των fans του heavy metal.

Με απίστευτη ενέργεια στις ζωντανές τους εμφανίσεις, οι Medusa's Wrath είναι έτοιμοι να αφήσουν το στίγμα τους στη heavy metal σκηνή!

 

Μετά από χρόνια σιωπής, ο Jim Mutilator και ο Magus επιστρέφουν με τον σκοτεινό ήχο τους. Ο Jim, συνιδρυτής των Rotting Christ και πρώην μπασίστας των Varathron, ενώνει τις δυνάμεις του με τον Magus, τον αρχιτέκτονα του ελληνικού black και death metal. Μαζί, σχηματίζουν το δίδυμο Yoth Iria, προσφέροντας μια φρέσκια εκδοχή του ελληνικού αποκρυφισμού που άνθισε τη δεκαετία του ’90

Η Επιστροφή των Μεγάλων…

Η επιστροφή των σπουδαιότερων είναι γεγονός. Το δίδυμο που ανέπτυξε και πρωτοστάτησε στην underground σκηνή επιστρέφει δυναμικά.

Ο Jim, γνωστός και ως Mutilator, ήταν ο πρώτος μπασίστας και συνιδρυτής της ελληνικής black metal μπάντας Rotting Christ. Επίσης, υπηρέτησε ως ο πρώτος μπασίστας και στη Varathron. Έχει εμφανιστεί σε δύο από τα πιο εμβληματικά και αναγνωρίσιμα άλμπουμ της ελληνικής black metal σκηνής, το «Thy Mighty Contract» των Rotting Christ και το «His Majesty at the Swamp» των Varathron. Συμμετείχε επίσης στην πιο σημαντική περιοδεία black metal εκείνης της εποχής, που περιλάμβανε καλλιτέχνες όπως οι Blasphemy, Immortal και Rotting Christ. Αποχώρησε από τη Varathron το 1993, λίγο μετά το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους, και ακολούθησαν δύο ακόμη άλμπουμ με τους Rotting Christ, τα «Non Serviam» και «Triarchy of the Lost Lovers», πριν αποχωρήσει το 1996. Παρά την αποχώρησή του, συνέχισε να συνεισφέρει στίχους στους Rotting Christ έως το άλμπουμ «Sleep of the Angels».

Στην ηλικία των 14 ετών, το 1985, ίδρυσε μια μπάντα με το όνομα Black Church μαζί με τα αδέρφια Τόλη. Δύο χρόνια αργότερα, το τρίο θα σχηματίσει τους Rotting Christ.

Ο Γιώργος, γνωστός ως Magus Wampyr Daoloth, The Magus ή Morbid, είναι Έλληνας μουσικός και παραγωγός, γνωστός κυρίως για το έργο του στη σκηνή του ελληνικού black και death metal. Έχει συνεργαστεί με μπάντες όπως οι Necromantia, Rotting Christ και Thou Art Lord, για τις οποίες πιστώνεται ότι διαμόρφωσαν τον "Ελληνικό ήχο" του black και death metal.

Ο Γιώργος Εμμανουήλ, ιδιοκτήτης των Pentagram studios, προσθέτει το ταλέντο του με την επιβλητική του απόδοση στις 6 χορδές, καθώς και την εμπειρία του ως πρώην μέλος των Rotting Christ. Πόσο σκληρό δηλαδή;

Οι Ελβετοί από το καντόνι του Λουγκάνο στο δεύτερο άλμπουμ της ιστορίας τους το πάνε καλά και σκληρά. Παίζουν ένα ιδιαζόντως "αμερικανικό" Hard Rock που πατάει εξίσου σε Firehouse, Skid Row απ' τη μια και σε Krokus (λόγω εντοπιότητας αφού κι αυτοί από Ελβετία είναι βεβαίως), Pink Cream 69 επί το ευρωπαϊκό μέτωπο, απ' την άλλη. Οι συνεργάτες σε αυτό  το πολύ αξιόλογο άλμπουμ είναι ο αείμνηστος τραγουδιστής Steve Lee, ο κιθαρίστας Leo Leoni , Marc Lynn μπάσο και ο Hena Habegger ντραμς μαζί κι ο session πληκτράς Pat Regan. Μέσα σε έντεκα κομμάτια εκ των οποίων το ένα είναι η διασκευή στο Come Together των Beatles, παραδίδουν ηχητικά μαθήματα καλοπαιγμένου Hard & Heavy και πιστεύω όταν ακούσετε αυτόν το δίσκο να συμφωνήσετε ότι τα Higher, Mountain Mama, Here Comes the Heat, Love for Money, Dirty Devil Rock, Open Fire είναι από τίς πιο εκλεκτές στιγμές του.

How hard, you ask?

The Swiss band from the canton of Lugano is doing well and going hard with their second album in history. They play a distinctly "American" Hard Rock that draws equally from influences like Firehouse and Skid Row on one side, and Krokus (given their Swiss roots, of course) and Pink Cream 69 on the European front. The collaborators on this noteworthy album include the late singer Steve Lee, guitarist Leo Leoni, bassist Marc Lynn, and drummer Hena Habegger, along with session keyboardist Pat Regan. Over the course of eleven tracks, one of which is a cover of The Beatles' "Come Together," they deliver masterclasses in well-played Hard & Heavy music. I believe that once you listen to this record, you will agree that tracks like "Higher," "Mountain Mama," "Here Comes the Heat," "Love for Money," "Dirty Devil Rock," and "Open Fire" are among its finest moments.

Greece and Argentina share some commonalities as countries. Firstly, they both feature blue and white in their flags, and historically, they are two nations that have experienced harsh dictatorships, faced serious economic problems, and sought assistance from the IMF. They have produced revolutionaries such as Che Guevara and Aris Velouchiotis, respectively. Additionally, both nations have a Mediterranean temperament, or if you prefer, a considerable Latin character. However, here we will discuss a different kind of alliance between Greece and Argentina that relates to music.

EVIL KING is a power metal band that began its career in 2020 and released their debut album in March 2021, which is also their only release to date. The band consists of two Greeks and two Argentinians: Aristofanis Tzaerlis on bass, Christian Hernán Montes on drums, Spiros Rizos on guitars, and Pablo D. Ruiz Diaz on vocals.

The elements that characterize the music style of EVIL KING are melodiousness and lyricism. Drawing inspiration from the Middle Ages, as indicated by the album's title, they create music of a similar essence. This music truly transports listeners to an era dominated by steel, power, blind faith, and ignorance, as well as heroism and depravity. In short, an extreme age that brought out both the best and the worst of human nature.

Musically, I would say their style bears resemblance to that of KAMELOT during the era when Roy Khan was the frontman. Pablo's voice and interpretation are notably influenced by BRUCE DICKINSON. In addition, due to the prevalent lyricism throughout the album, you may also discern some references to VIRGIN STEELE. However, the most important aspect is that this is a release with its own musical identity and personality.

It is a very robust, mature, and inspired work that navigates the melodic heavy and power metal paths, with some progressive metal nuances that add more detail and variety. This is an album worth listening to…

Κόμικ τρόμου σε μέταλ ράγες.

Πριν γίνουν γνωστοί (κι αγαπημένοι) για το ακουστικό σεξ στο άθλιο ποπ πανηγύρι της Eurovision το 2006, όπου για να το πω ευγενικά διέρρηξαν συγκεκριμένες σωματικές κοιλότητες (...τα αφτιά εννοώ με αυτό ρε πονηροί!) των αδαών χαζoχαρούμενων eurofans με το Hard Rock Hallelujah σε αθηναϊκό  έδαφος, οι Φιλανδοί Classic Heavy Metal μουσικοί με το καθόλου πρότυπο τερατόμορφο στυλ (οι GWAR το έκαναν πρώτοι αυτό) είχαν ήδη τη δεύτερη κυκλοφορία τους μετά το πολύ ωραίο ντεμπούτο τους το Get Heavy. Τα τέσσερα βαριά μασκαρεμένα παλικάρια υπό το δαιμόνιο βλέμμα του ερμηνευτή τους Mr. Lordi κι η κοπέλα στα πλήκτρα παίζουν κι αποδίδουν μελωδικό Heavy, ίσως λίγο retro αλλά τίμιο! Το όλο horror image βοηθά μόνο σκηνικά άντε κι εικαστικά στο εξώφυλλο και στο artwork των φωτογραφιών στο βιβλιαράκι του CD. Από το κυρίως πιάτο σε 12 κομμάτια συν την εισαγωγή αλά B’ movie τρόμου βρίσκονται ζόρικα τραγούδια σαν τα Bring it On, Blood Red Sandman, My Heaven Ιs your Hell, Pet The Destroyer, η μπαλάντα The Children of the Night, Wake the Snake, Shotgun Divorce, Forsaken Fashion Dolls, Fire in the Hole, Kalmageddon που θα μας κάνουν να εκτιμήσουμε το σχήμα έτι παραπάνω.

Horror comic on metal tracks.

Before they became known (and beloved) for their acoustic sex at the dreadful pop spectacle of Eurovision in 2006—where, to put it politely, they tore apart specific bodily cavities (...I mean the ears, you cheeky ones!) of clueless, cheerful eurofans with "Hard Rock Hallelujah" on Athenian soil—the Finnish classic heavy metal musicians, with their distinctly unconventional monstrous style (GWAR were the pioneers of that) had already released their second album following the very impressive debut, "Get Heavy." The four heavily costumed lads, under the watchful eye of their charismatic frontman, Mr. Lordi, along with the keyboardist, deliver melodic heavy metal that is perhaps a bit retro but undeniably sincere! The whole horror imagery adds to the theatrical effect, enhanced by the striking cover art and photographs in the CD booklet. The main course consists of 12 tracks plus an intro reminiscent of a B-movie horror, featuring hard-hitting songs like "Bring it On," "Blood Red Sandman," "My Heaven is Your Hell," "Pet the Destroyer," the ballad "The Children of the Night," "Wake the Snake," "Shotgun Divorce," "Forsaken Fashion Dolls," "Fire in the Hole," and "Kalmageddon," which will make us appreciate the band even more.

REVIEW: BLIND GUARDIAN, Nightfall In Middle Earth

Πρελούδια, ιντερλούδια κι ανάμεσα ύμνοι.

Αν απομονώσει κανείς τα κομμάτια αμιγώς, είναι τα 2/3 της συνολικής διάρκειας του CD!  Έχει γραφτεί ότι είναι το καλύτερο τους, η ακμή, το ζενίθ κ.τ.λ. δεν νομίζω ότι ευσταθεί κάτι τέτοιο. Ίσως αν κάποιος το ρημιξαρε χωρίς τα εφέ και τα ιντερλούδια να άξιζε περισσότερο γιατί  σαν το τελευταίο τους κλασικό άλμπουμ ναι έχει ιδιαίτερη αξία, τα συνολικά 22 tracks που το απαρτίζουν το καθιστούν μάλλον ακατάλληλο να το έχεις στο mp3 player του κινητού.... Ένα θεματικό σύνολο με βάση (τί άλλο) το Silmarilion του J.R.R. Tolkien. Η σύνθεση τους πλέον σαν πεντάδα με τον πάντα συμπαθέστατο τραγουδιστή Hansi Kursch να μην παίζει από αυτό και ύστερα και μπάσο και να έχουν πλέον ξεχωριστό μπασίστα. Τα πολυφωνικά σχεδόν σα χορωδία φωνητικά είναι εδώ, οι μελωδίες κι οι συνθέσεις κι αυτές κι όμως, κάτι λείπει (βασικά περισσεύει όπως είπαμε πιο πάνω!). Πιο σημαντικό είναι το γεγονός ότι είναι το τελευταίο πραγματικά συμπαγές τους (όσο το επέτρεπαν οι συνθήκες) άλμπουμ για χρόνια. Το Mirror Mirror θα μείνει απ' αυτό σχεδόν μόνιμα στο ζωντανό playlist τους από τότε ως τις μέρες μας. Τα Into the Storm, Nightfall, The Curse of Feanor, Blood Tears, Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill), Thorn, When Sorrow Sang είναι κι αυτά σημεία αναφοράς απ' αυτό το άλμπουμ.

Preludes, interludes, and hymns in between.

If one were to isolate the pure tracks, they make up about two-thirds of the total duration of the CD! It has been said that this is their best work, the peak, the zenith, etc., but I don't believe that holds any truth. Perhaps if someone remixed it without the effects and interludes, it would hold more value, because as their last classical album, it does indeed have special significance. The total of 22 tracks makes it somewhat impractical to have on your mobile MP3 player. It’s a thematic collection based (what else?) on J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion. Their lineup has changed to a five-piece, with the ever-likable vocalist Hansi Kürsch no longer playing bass from this point forward, as they now have a separate bassist. The choral-like harmonies are present, as are the melodies and compositions, yet something feels missing (or rather, as mentioned earlier, there’s too much!). More importantly, this is their last truly solid album (as much as circumstances allowed) for many years. "Mirror Mirror" will remain a staple in their live playlist from that time onward. Other standout tracks from this album include "Into the Storm," "Nightfall," "The Curse of Fëanor," "Blood Tears," "Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill)," "Thorn," and "When Sorrow Sang."

Μαντικές ικανότητες;

Νομίζω ότι ο Dave Mustaine με αυτό το άλμπουμ ξεπερνά τον εαυτό του πραγματικά. Μαζί με Dave "Junior" Ellefson στο μπάσο (για τελευταία φορά όπως έδειξαν τα γεγονότα), τον Βραζιλιάνο Kiko Lureiro των Angra στις δεύτερες κιθάρες και τον ντράμερ Chris Adler εδώ έχουμε ίσως ένα απ'τα τυπικότερα μετακλασικά έργα ενός συγκροτήματος που όρισε τον αμερικανικό Speed Metal και Thrash Metal ήχο από το το 1984 και μετά. Έχοντας να διαδεχθεί άλμπουμ σα τα Th1rte3n και το πειραματικό Super Collider, εδώ η μπάντα απογειώνεται πραγματικά. The Threat is Real, Dystopia, Death From Within, Bullet to The Brain, ο ύμνος Post American World, Poisonous Shadows, Conquer or Die, The Emperor , Foreign Policy είναι τόσο τυπικά Megadeth-ικα που σε γυρίζουν πίσω στο 1992 και το Countdown to Extinction χωρίς να προσπαθήσουν πολύ. Απλά τους βγαίνει! Με θεματολογία την πολιτική, την προπαγάνδα των ΜΜΕ, τη δυστοπία με  φόντο το σκοτεινό μέλλον, ο πόλεμος και διεθνείς σχέσεις, η ψεύτικη εικόνα ενός καταρρέοντος συστήματος εγκιβωτισμένο μέσα σε ένα άλλο σύστημα, αντίστοιχα θέματα όπως και στα άλμπουμ της εποχής 1986-1992 και ακόμα δεν είχε ξεσπάσει καν η μεγαλύτερη σκευωρία/κοινωνικό πείραμα υποταγής των τελευταίων δεκαετιών ο Covid-19!

Oracular Abilities?

I believe that with this album, Dave Mustaine truly surpasses himself. Alongside Dave "Junior" Ellefson on bass (for the last time, as recent events have shown), Brazilian Kiko Loureiro of Angra on second guitar, and drummer Chris Adler, we have perhaps one of the most quintessential post-classic works from a band that defined the American Speed Metal and Thrash Metal sound from 1984 onwards. Following albums like *Th1rte3n* and the experimental *Super Collider*, the band really takes off here.

Tracks like "The Threat is Real," "Dystopia," "Death From Within," "Bullet to The Brain," the anthem "Post American World," "Poisonous Shadows," "Conquer or Die," "The Emperor," and "Foreign Policy" are so quintessentially Megadeth that they take you back to 1992 and *Countdown to Extinction* without even trying too hard. It just comes naturally to them! With themes revolving around politics, media propaganda, dystopia set against a dark future, war, international relations, and the false image of a crumbling system encapsulated within another system, these topics resonate with those found in albums from 1986-1992. Remarkably, this was even before the outbreak of the greatest conspiracy/social experiment of submission in recent decades, COVID-19!

Ένα ζωντανό άλμπουμ που δεν έχει τη λέξη live!

H πεντάδα απ' τη Σουηδία που άκμασε την εποχή της επαναφοράς του ευρωπαϊκού Power Metal βρίσκοντας τους ίδιους στο ζενίθ της δημιουργικής τους πρώτης περιόδου, η οποία κλείνει με αυτό το διπλό ζωντανά ηχογραφημένο άλμπουμ. Η περιοδεία για το Crimson Thunder άλμπουμ έδωσε την ευκαιρία να γραφτούν κομμάτια ειδικά στη πατρίδα τους Σουηδία (η σημαία φάτσα φόρα στο εξώφυλλο το υποδηλώνει κιόλας), από όλα τα τέσσερα τότε άλμπουμ που είχαν ως πίσω στο 1997. Ένα καλό ζωντανό best της πιο ωραίας εποχής τους. Σύντομα θα εκτραπούν μουσικά στο πιο τετριμμένο και κλισέ ύφος που ευτυχώς πρόσφατα δείχνουν να το έχουν αποβάλλει, αλλά μέχρι τότε ας αναπολούμε τα παλιά και καλά τους.

A live album that doesn't have the word "live"!

The quintet from Sweden that thrived during the resurgence of European Power Metal finds itself at the zenith of its creative first period, which concludes with this double live-recorded album. The tour for the *Crimson Thunder* album provided the opportunity to write songs specifically in their homeland of Sweden (the flag prominently displayed on the cover highlights this), drawing from all four albums they had released since 1997. It's a great live best-of collection from their most beautiful era. Soon, they will meander musically into a more clichéd and conventional style, which fortunately they seem to have recently shed, but for now, let’s reminisce about their good old days.

ALESTORM Drop Speedy New Single “Frozen Piss 2”

 

ALESTORM has unveiled the first single, "Frozen Piss 2," from their upcoming album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, scheduled for release on June 20, 2025, via Napalm Records. The track features fast riffs, sing-along choruses, and keytar elements, encapsulating the band's signature pirate-themed chaos. Accompanied by an official music video, the single represents the band's return after their seventh studio album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which performed notably well on various charts.

The Thunderfist Chronicles will include eight tracks filled with adventurous melodies and humorous lyrics, continuing ALESTORM's tradition of creating a lively, party atmosphere at their shows. HELLISH TORMENT released new video

 

American Black Metal band Hellish Torment has released a controversial new video clip titled "Raped By God," filmed by CJ Gardiner of Red Wolf Michigan Studio. The video features a chilling audio clip from former cult leader Warren Jeffs. Established in 2016 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the band consists of Tom "The Soulbutcher" Gillis (vocals/guitars), Patrick "Dragginballs" McCarty (guitars), and Mike "Evil" Oehmen (drums). They debuted with the demo "Unholy Isolation" in 2020 and have since released a self-titled album in 2024, leading to live performances across Michigan.
