Η επιστροφή και αυτών των κάποτε κυρίαρχων του Heavy Doom Metal, είναι αυτό το άλμπουμ. Συγκρότημα που δε χρειάζεται συστάσεις, μαζί με Pentagram, Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Cathedral και βεβαίως Solitude Aeternus αποτελούν στην ομάδα αυτή των συγκροτημάτων που δόξασαν τα χνάρια των Black Sabbath της δεκαετίας του '70 στη μουσική, λαμπρή προσθήκη, παίρνοντας τον ήχο τους κι φέρνοντας τον στο δικό τους μετρό και μετερίζι. Οι Trouble λοιπόν ήτοι οι κύριοι Kyle Thomas εδώ σε φωνή, Rick Wartell & Bruce Franklin σε κιθάρες και μπάσα εναλλάξ στα διάφορα κομμάτια του δίσκου και με τον Marko Lira ντράμερ και Jeff Olson στα πλήκτρα παίζουν αυτό που περιμέναμε και σε αυτό το CD. "Σαμπαθικο" κι ορεξάτο Heavy Doom με κάποιες Stoner νότες εδώ κι εκεί για ποικιλία και χρώμα. Αν περιμένετε να ακούσετε το δεύτερο Pslam 9 The Skull ή Manic Frustration... χάσατε και κερδίσατε ταυτόχρονα! Το The Distortion Field έχει λοιπόν όλα τα στοιχεία εκείνα που συνδέονται με τους δημιουργούς του, doom, heavy, psychedelic όσο όλα τα παλιά κλασικά άλμπουμ τους αλλά και συγχρόνως φρέσκο αέρα στα δεκατρία τραγούδια που περιέχει και εκεί, τα When the Sky Comes Down, Paranoia Conspiracy, The Broken Have Spoken, Sink or Swim, Hunters of Doom,  Glass of Lies, Sucker, The Greying Chill of Autumn και Your Reflection με κερδίζουν πάντα.

A Field of Glory

The return of these once-dominant Heavy Doom Metal titans is marked by this album. A band that needs no introduction, along with Pentagram, Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Cathedral, and of course Solitude Aeturnus, they form part of the group of bands that gloriously followed in the footsteps of Black Sabbath from the '70s. They are a brilliant addition, taking that sound and shaping it in their own unique way.

Trouble, with Kyle Thomas on vocals, Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin alternating on guitars and bass throughout the album, Marko Lira on drums, and Jeff Olson on keyboards, play exactly what we expected on this CD. "Sabbath-like" and energetic Heavy Doom with some Stoner notes sprinkled in for variety and color.

If you're expecting to hear a second *Psalm 9*, *The Skull*, or *Manic Frustration*... you may be disappointed but also pleasantly surprised! *The Distortion Field* has all the elements associated with its creators: doom, heavy, and psychedelic, just like their classic albums, yet it also brings a fresh breath of air to the thirteen tracks it contains. The songs "When the Sky Comes Down," "Paranoia Conspiracy," "The Broken Have Spoken," "Sink or Swim," "Hunters of Doom," "Glass of Lies," "Sucker," "The Greying Chill of Autumn," and "Your Reflection" always captivate me.
