On Friday, October 13th, three dynamic bands from the
local music scene - Amnesia Pills, Loose Ties, and High Hills - extend a warm
invitation to ilion+ for a night brimming with music and electric energy.

Amnesia
Pills
Amnesia Pills represent a standout presence in Athens'
alternative music landscape, singing primarily in English. Their music is
melodious, drawing closer to the British music scene, with a strong 80s
influence seamlessly merged with a contemporary flair. They fuse elements from
iconic artists like Editors, Depeche Mode, New Order, The National, Radiohead,
Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Coldplay, Robert Plant, The Killers, Fleetwood Mac,
and more. Amnesia Pills have a string of singles to their name, including
"Dance me" (2016), "Don't be sad today" (2017), "The
Show" (2019), "Loner" (2020), "Dance me (Yosebu
Remix)" (2020), “The Meanest (Call me man)” (2022), and “Pledged to love”
(2022). Their recent debut album, "Ripples in a linear world,"
garnered critical acclaim. Their latest release features two remixes of the
song “I ‘d never let go,” one of which continues their successful collaboration
with the music producer and composer Yosebu. All these releases are proudly
under the banner of The Hubsters. Amnesia Pills graced the Vibe Stage at the
Rockwave Festival in 2017. The track "Don’t be sad today" was
featured in the 2017 TV advertisement for "IEK AKMI." The grand
unveiling of their album "Ripples in a linear world" took place in
February 2023 at six d.o.g.s.
Loose
Ties
Loose Ties, an English-speaking band formed in 2017
and solidifying their current lineup in 2019, navigate the realms of funk and
alternative rock. However, their musical compass embraces a multitude of
genres, marked by experimental zest and always rooted in a deep groove. Their
debut album, "Retrospect," saw the light of day in 2021, a harmonious
fusion of diverse musical styles covering an expansive soundscape. A captivating
music video for their song "Gone" emerged on YouTube later that same
year. In 2022, they unveiled "All About U," and the creative journey
led to their second album, "Odd One Out," released in February 2023.
This album is a thematically cohesive collection of eight tracks, channeling a
futuristic aesthetic to explore pressing themes such as alienation, existential
angst, and the intricacies of urban life. Within this somber tapestry of
tomorrow, threads of optimism are skillfully woven alongside subtle strokes of
dark humor.
High
Hills
Hailing from Athens, High Hills is a seven-member band
established in 2018, gradually breathing life into their inaugural EP,
"The Rest is You." The band members hail from diverse musical
backgrounds, converging under a wide sonic umbrella that encapsulates a rich
spectrum of musical influences. Their lyrics revolve around the tapestry of
everyday thoughts, dreams, aspirations, and anxieties.
