Η τελευταία και αρκετά βαριά εποχή των Καναδών.

Μετά το 2000 οι τρεις μουσικοί και φίλοι Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Neal Peart (RIP) απέδειξαν ότι όντως είχαν ακόμα να δώσουν. Αυτό εδώ το 19ο παρακαλώ άλμπουμ τους ήταν  μια πολύ καλή στιγμή κι ήδη απ' την μέσα της προηγούμενης δεκαετίας με το Counterparts έχουν γυρίσει οριστικά στο ηλεκτρικό, Prog Rock στυλ που οι ίδιοι είχαν επανεφεύρει με τα κλασικά τους άλμπουμ. Πλέον θα μπούν σε ακόμη πιο βαριά ηχητικά πεδία. Όχι δεν γίνονται Prog Metal, αλλά το συγκεκριμένο CD το βρίσκω πολύ πιο βαρύ συνθετικά απ' μπάντες που οι ίδιοι επιρρεασαν (π.χ. Dream Theater) και τα δικά τους άλμπουμ της ίδιας εποχής. Τί έχουμε εδώ λοιπόν; Έχουμε δεκατρία κομμάτια, κάπως πολλά για δίσκο τους αλλά αυτό το συνολικό νούμερο βοηθά στο να έχουν κάπως πιο μαζεμένη διάρκεια! Far Cry, Armor and Sword, Workin' Them Angels, The Way the Wind Blows, Hope Faithless, Bravest Face, Malignant Narcissism έχουν να δώσουν τα περισσότερα απ' όλα. Ένα άλμπουμ που, αν και δεν έκανε την έκρηξη, από τότε μνημονεύεται σαν ένα από τα τελευταία τους κοσμήματα. Στη πραγματικότητα, το προτελευταίο.

The latest and quite heavy era of the Canadians.

After 2000, the three musicians and friends Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart (RIP) proved that they still had a lot to offer. This, their 19th album, was a very good moment, and already mid-last decade with Counterparts, they had definitively returned to their electric, Prog Rock style, which they themselves had reinvented with their classic albums. Now, they will venture into even heavier sonic territories. Not that they become Prog Metal, but I find this particular CD to be much heavier compositionally than bands they influenced (e.g., Dream Theater) and their own albums from the same era. So, what do we have here? We have thirteen tracks, somewhat too many for their album, but this total number helps to have a somewhat more cohesive duration! Far Cry, Armor and Sword, Workin' Them Angels, The Way the Wind Blows, Faithless, Bravest Face, and Malignant Narcissism stand out the most. An album that, although it didn't make a splash, has been remembered since then as one of their last gems. In reality, their second-to-last one.
