REVIEW: KILLING MACHINE - Chapter One

KILLING MACHINE - Chapter One

Axe Killer Records

KILLING MACHINE, who began their career in the USA and, according to Metal Archives, relocated to France, were formed in 2000. They have released two albums: their debut titled "Killing Machine," which features vocals by Mike Vescera, and "Metalmorphosis," which features James Rivera on vocals.

The release I present here is a compilation consisting of tracks from these two albums, which I consider indicative and a great starting point for anyone looking to get acquainted with the band's sound.

The band operates within the realm of classic heavy metal and, as suggested by their name, draws substantial inspiration and influence from JUDAS PRIEST. While it may not be the most original sound you’ve ever heard, what matters in this genre — at least for me — is the emotion conveyed by the compositions. And they certainly have that in abundance.

The compositions are very enjoyable and have the ability to stick in the listener's mind. This is, of course, supported by the outstanding musical skill of the musicians involved, as well as the performances of Mike Vescera and James Rivera.

Personally, I was captivated by compositions like "Loup Garou," "Wrecking Ball," and "Scared Beyond the Black," which all have a strong METALLICA aesthetic, as well as "Burn in the Wind" and "What Makes You God?"

In short, this is noteworthy and well-played heavy metal that can offer thrills to fans of the genre.
