Chris Harms, known for his versatility in the band
Lord of the Lost, is set to release his debut solo album, *1980*, on January
31, 2025, via Napalm Records. The album marks the realization of a long-held
dream and showcases a sound that diverges from Harms' typical guitar-driven
rock style, instead embracing atmospheric synth-pop reminiscent of the 80s,
infused with electronic, wave, and goth elements.
The album opens with the dancefloor-ready single
"I Love You," accompanied by a visually captivating music video that
reflects the retro aesthetics of the era. Harms describes the track as
deceptively cheerful, revealing that beneath its light 80s synth sound lies a
deep melancholy, making it one of the saddest songs he's ever written.
