It’s
not that long since I’ve heard the debut unmixed tracks of the debut album for
RHODIUM and here it is their fresh second album by Slitrick Records. They are a
band with fast progress in their activities, live shows and energetic on public
relations.
The
band also jumped a decade in their song writing as far as it concerns their
first album, they had a solid 80's USA power metal sound, but now they took a
further step front and they deliver 90's power metal full of great guitar work
and dark mood.
“Sea
of the Dead” contains 10 songs with nice sound and influences close to
SANCTURAY, QUEENSRYCHE, NEVERMORE, JAG PANZER, HELSTAR and IRON MAIDEN.
Basicall, modern sounding power metal with sharp razor riffs, a tight rhythm
section and a singer with a variety of scales and unlimited changing of notes
(on the traditional side of course with theatrical expression I imagine a mix
between Geoff Tate and Warrel Dane).
The
lyrics are absolute, emotional and they fit with the concept of the album,
amazing artwork and a positive feeling for the whole effort. Next action: listen this record too and decide for
