ART OF SIMPLICITY - When Fables Have a Bitter Taste Review

ART OF SIMPLICITY - When Fables Have a Bitter Taste EP

Independent

ART OF SIMPLICITY is a very interesting band from Greece with a demo CD and 2 official releases (an album and currently a 6 track CD).

This recording is an amazing mix of different sounds and music directions which will satisfy fans of progressive metal, progressive rock, gothic metal, experimental music and psychedelic rock because of the polymorphic structure of  “When Fables Have a Bitter Taste” given with lots of talent.

Basically this release contains 6 compositions with nice intros, a collage of sounds both heavy and romantic, a voice flirting with SISTERS OF MERCY, DANZING and QUEENSRYCHE (Geoff Tate), nice violin bits and pieces making this stuff paranoid and atmospheric, guitar licks that kick a** or deliver atmosphere and a precise yet progressive to anarchic (I really love the different and wide range of double bass drumming on this EP) rhythm section.

The production was made on several places and that is obvious, I mean, the sound engineering and mixing are nice and the atmosphere plus the concept are just to the point.

If you dig stuff like VAUXDVIHL, QUEENSRYCHE (“Promised Land”), (middle era) SAVATAGE, HAWKWIND, GENESIS, YES, ASIA and many others you will love it. Also the package comes on digi sleeve with hard paper and is an independent release which adds more cult on the purchasing.
